After taking evidence from both riders including senior rider N Day, who assisted apprentice McPherson, and viewing the available patrol footage, it was established leaving the 600 metres PARLOUR shifted out to a three wide position at which point SHAME JOB then commenced to improve to the inside of that runner. Cowan (BLAVATSKY) alleging interference against the winner (IN HAVANA) in the home straight. After hearing submission from connections, it was established that near the 100m IN HAVANA shifted in marginally brushing BLAVATSKY, resulting in BLAVATSKY racing tight to its inside for to remainder of the event. Giving consideration to the nature of the interference, the way both horses finished the race off and the proximity to the winning post, stewards couldn’t be comfortably satisfied that had the interference not occurred, BLAVATSKY would have finished in advance of IN HAVANA and subsequently dismissed the objection. NICCONI REBEL – On arrival at the barriers underwent a veterinary examination at the request of the rider and was cleared to start. Raced three wide in the early stages.
