GENERAL
 
Due to current covid restrictions the following overweight allowances were approved –
Race 2 – DIVINE AUTHORITY – Beau-Dene Appo +1
Race 5 – PLATINUM DEAL – Beau-Dene Appo +1
Race 7 – SIZZLEOVER – Brad Appo +0.5kg
 
As jockey L. Tilley was unable to attend the meeting due to illness, replacements were permitted as per race day summary. Jockey Tilley was advised he will require a medical certificate prior to returning to race riding.
 
Jockey B. Appo was fined $100 under AR128(1) for his late arrival on course.
 
Apprentice J. Cornish was fined $100 under AR128(1) fort her late arrival on course.
 
Race 1: TOOWOOMBA PLASTICS BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1100 metres
 
MOSCINI – Bumped on jumping. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
I LOVE THIS HIPPY – Leaving the 750m had to be steadied from heels.
 
SOUTH STREET BOSS – Improved on to heels and had to be steadied near the 400m. When questioned regarding the below market expectation performance of the gelding, Jockey J Oliver reported that after needing to place his mount under pressure to try to obtain a forward position, at a point near the 600m SOUTH STREET BOSS failed to respond and as a result proved disappointing. Trainer M Currie advised stewards that the gelding would be going for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
RIP CITY – Slow to begin.
 
VAST KAMA – Raced wide without cover throughout. Inclined to lay in in the early part of the home straight.
 
FIGHTING MAD – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. Was inclined to lay in rounding the home turn.
 
JUST LIKE MUM – Jumped awkwardly and made contact with MOSCINI. At a point approaching the 750m, was placed in restricted room, checked and lost ground when RIP CITY was taken in by FIGHTING MAD. Apprentice L. Kilner (FIGHTING MAD) was found guilty to a careless riding under AR131(a) in that a point approaching the 750m, she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of RIP CITY and JUST LIKE MUM, resulting in JUST LIKE MUM being tightened for room, checked and lost ground. Apprentice Kilner’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 11th December 2021 and conclude midnight 22nd December 2021.Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
Race 2: VANDERFIELD - RDO Class 1 Handicap 1300 metres

SHOTGUN BOBBY – Slow to begin. Approaching the 600m laid in onto the heels of DIVINE AUTHORITY and was forced to steady. Held up from the 500m until the early stages of the home straight.
 
GROOMED – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. At a point passing the 1000m, improved onto heels when racing keenly and was forced to steady. Raced wide without cover from the 800m.
 
ALIRAAJ (NZ) – Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
TISANI ROSE – Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
IN HAVANA – Made contact with the running rail near the 600m.
 
STAR TWINKLE – Approaching the 1100m raced in restricted room and lost ground when IN HAVANNA shifted in marginally.
 
DIVINE AUTHORITY – As Jockey B. Appo was overweight he was subsequently replaced as per the stewards summary. Jockey Appo was fined $100 under AR190(3).
 
Race 3: VANDERFIELD JOHN DEERE RIDE-ON MOWERS BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1625 metres
 
CRAIGLEA ARION – Shifted out leaving the 1200m forcing STYLISH KIM wider on the track. Jockey P Hamblin was advised to exercise more care.
 
OCTAVIAN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
GRATSIE – Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages before obtaining a position with cover leaving the 800m. Improved on to heels and shifted out to obtain clear running near the 500m.
 
HARADIFY – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Race 4: ANDERFIELD JOHN DEERE RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1850 metres
 
IN YOUR ELEMENT – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
THE KROC – Jumped awkwardly.
 
LINCOLN FURY – Momentarily held up near the 400m.
 
OCTOBER JOY – Raced wide without cover throughout. Inclined to lay in for a short distance leaving the 800m.
 
FIORENA – Apprentice J. Molloy was fined $800 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
Race 5: HORSCH @ VANDERFIELD RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1850 metres
 
During the event, a section of rail at the 1050m became disconnected. Upon reviewing the race, stewards were of the opinion that the incident had no affect of any runner throughout the event.
 
THE CARPENTER – Began awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
INDIAN RANI (NZ) – Slow to begin. Leaving the 1300m was forced to steady from heels when PLATINUM DEAL shifted out despite the efforts of it’s rider. Apprentice N. Fazackerley was fined $300 under AR211(1) for returning to scale overweight.
 
PRINTMAKER – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
FOXY ROSE – Hung out rounding the turn approaching the 1600m. Raced wide without cover early before obtaining a leading position near the 1300m. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
SHADYVALE SERENADE – Began awkwardly. Forced wider near the 1300m when PLATINUM DEAL shifted out despite the efforts of it’s rider.
 
KINGS ROW – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
TRIPPER – Forced wider near the 1300m when PLATINUM DEAL shifted out despite the efforts of it’s rider.
 
PLATINUM DEAL – At the 1300m shifted out when awkwardly placed at heels resulting in SHADYVALE SERENADE and TRIPPER being forced wider on the track.
 
Race 6: KUHN @ VANDERFIELD QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 62
Handicap 1100 metres
 
MISHANI SCANDAL – Raced wide throughout.
 
CRAIGLEA ICON – Knuckled on jumping.
 
ROWDASH – Began awkwardly and made contact with MISHANI TROUBLE. When questioned on the below market performance Apprentice Jockey I Rabjones advised that the filly failed to handle todays track conditions and felt awkward in it’s action throughout the race proving disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have sustained a poor post race recovery. Stewards will contact trainer Mr Kropp in relation to today’s performance in the coming days.
 
MISHANI TROUBLE – Bumped on jumping.
 
Race 7: DD CHILL Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
Stewards intend inquiring into an incident occurred approaching the winning post at a later date.  
 
BECAUSE THE NIGHT – Bumped on jumping. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
PRINCE SHUVEE – Shifted out abruptly under pressure in the home straight.
 
SWIFT MISS FOX – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn.
 
VAIN LUKE – Stood flat footed and lost significant ground. Trainer L Roche was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further Barrier Certificate before racing again.
 
HEAD DE VEGAS – Began awkwardly. Momentarily held up rounding the home turn.
 
FREDDY LIGHTNING – Began awkwardly. Made contact with the running rail at the 600m.
 
LICENCE TO ROCK – Began awkwardly. Laid out around the home turn.
 
BOHEMIAN FLYER – Jumped awkwardly. Laid in shortly after the start and made contact with PRINCE SHUVEE. Hung in for the remainder of the event.
 
KNIGHT ENAMOURED – Began awkwardly. Hung in down the home straight.
 
SIZZLELOVER – Began awkwardly. Jockey B. Appo was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
Race 8: DMH AUTOMATION Class 4 Handicap 1000 metres
 
MISHANI BULLITT – Bumped on jumping.
 
BESTIE – Momentarily raced in restricted room leaving the 850m. Leaving the 800m was steadied from heels.
 
CHARLIE SPHENE – Leaving the 600m was inclined to lay in. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SNITZ AND THE CITY – Began awkwardly. Made contact with MISHANI BULLITT.
 
BIT OF A BEAUTY- Began awkwardly.
 
BAY OF DRAGONS – Began awkwardly. Made contact with BIT OF A BEAUTY.
 
I'MTWENTYFOURSEVEN – At the 150m shifted in abruptly and became unbalanced.
