GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights-
 
Race 3- S Fawke +0.5kg
Race 4- G Walters +1kg
Race 5- S Fawke +0.5kg
 
Jockey S Fawke was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR232(b) in that he did fail to follow the official direction to seek permission to ride overweight by the prescribed time.
 
 
Stewards accepted the reasons provided by Trainers R Pereira and J Gilmore for the late declaration of riders on the respective runners, however both were reminded of their obligations.
 
 
Due to a clerical error Jockey M Murphy in Race 1 and Jockey G Cartwright in Race 3 were erroneously shown as 2kg claiming apprentices in the official program. On course patrons were made aware of this by way of on course announcement.
 
 
 
 
Race 1: TRICARE WILLOW GLEN CLASS 1 PLATE 1300m
 
AVOCA- Due to a clerical error the gelding was not shown as wearing blinkers in some form guides. The gelding did however race in blinkers. Patrons were made aware prior the event by way of on course announcement and via social media. Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to over-race down the back straight. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight becoming awkwardly placed on heels passing the 300m before shifting wider passing the 200m. Inclined to shift ground under pressure down the running bumping with another runner approaching the winning post.
 
DARCHINIAN- Began awkwardly bumping with another runner.
 
I AM SUPERIOR- Began awkwardly. Bumped with another runner approaching the winning post. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a superficial laceration to the right hind cannon in running.
 
ZABCAN- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped with another runner.
 
SHEINDLIN- Fractious in the barrier. Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
FLASH GURU- Inclined to lay out passing the 600m.
 
POET’S GIRL- Bumped with another runner approaching the winning post.
 
Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons ROMANCE FACTOR (App I Rabjones) was checked passing the 500m to a date and time to be fixed to allow App Rabjones to be in attendance.
 
 
 
Race 2: THANK YOU DAVE MORRISON CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200m
 
NAVAL STRIKE- Began awkwardly.
 
I’LL TELL YOU NOW- Began awkwardly and knuckled soon after.
 
BEST TO HURRY- Began awkwardly, shifted in soon after jumping tightening runners to its inside. Under pressure passing the 500m before tiring noticeably in the home straight. Trainer K Kemp advised it would now be his intention to experiment with a gear change on the gelding.
 
PERSIAN KING- Shifted out soon after jumping tightening runners to its outside.
 
RAPIDO GRIS- Shifted in soon after jumping tightening runners to its inside.
 
BEACH CLUB- Became awkwardly placed on heels after being tightened for room soon after jumping.
 
VLADKING- Became awkwardly placed on heels after being tightened for room soon after jumping. Obliged to shift out and around heels approaching the 100m.
 
ROYALIST- Raced wide for the majority. Held up for clear running on entering the homes straight until shifting wider leaving the 200m.
 
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 4 retrospective of Race 2.
 
 
 
Race 3: VALE MARK FLINT BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1625m
 
JABBAR- Connections advised Stewards it would be their intention to have the gelding ridden in a midfield position with cover should circumstance permit, Patrons were made aware by way of on course announcement and social media. Was ridden accordingly. Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted out to improve passing the 400m momentarily hampering another runner, which was tiring noticeably. Jockey G Goomany was advised to exercise greater care as a result of this incident.
 
SIZZLING BABE- Slow into stride and became awkwardly placed on heels soon after. Inclined to race keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
WAITAKERE- Inclined to race ungenerously when being restrained between the 1200-1000m. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
CALM SEEKER- Inclined to race keenly in the early stages. Jockey G Geran was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in the he did use his whip 6 times, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
GOT THE LOT- Inclined to race keenly on heels in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running from the 500m until a point soon after entering the home straight.
 
WINTER RAIN- Inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages, raced ungenerously rounding the 1400m turn and shifted wider as a result. Raced wide for the majority.
 
ELIZANO- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
BY THE LAW- Became awkwardly placed on the heels of a tiring runner and was obliged to momentarily steady and shift wider passing the 400m. Shifted out and around heels passing the 200m.
 
RESETS SON-Momentarily steadied off heels approaching the 100m.
 
OSCARS LOT- Commenced to lose ground from the 500m. Went amiss in its action soon after entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer B Brown was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
 
 
Race 4: BLACK & WHITE CABS BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1000m
 
LOVESON- As App Castle was unable to arrive on course due to transport difficulties Stewards permitted App A Patis to be substituted as rider of the gelding. Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
SPINNING SPIRIT- Reluctant to load. Stood flat footed as the start was effected. Trainer J Hanna was advised the mare would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
EASY COME- Bumped with another runner on jumping. Jockey G Walters was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he did use his whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
 
 
 
 
Race 5: FURNEY’S STOCK FEEDS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
LADY DANORO- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly, bumped by another runner and taken in tightening runners to its inside. Inclined to race keenly in the middle stages.
 
LICENSE TO ROCK- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers and was passed fit to start. Raced wide for the majority.
 
CHUBASACOS- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped with another runner. Inclined to lay in under pressure on entering the home straight. App Patis will be reminded of her obligations. Momentarily hampered approaching the winning post.
 
EXPOSURE- Bumped by another runner which was taken in on jumping, shifted in tightening runners to it inside.
 
TWILIGHT BOOM- Severely tightened between runners soon after jumping, obliged to check and lost ground. Soon after commenced to buck dislodging App I Rabjones. App Rabjones was attended to by QAS Officers and subsequently transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital for further treatment. App Rabjones will be advised she will require a medical clearance prior to again being permitted to ride in a race. Trainer M Nolan was advised the gelding would be required to trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
IN’HINCHABLE- Began awkwardly, shifted out bumping with another runner. Became awkwardly placed on heels soon after having to be restrained. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
PRECIOUS DIAMOND- Bumped and taken out by another runner on jumping tightening runners to its outside. Became awkwardly placed on heels soon after having to be restrained.
 
OUTASTEP- Bucked soon after the start. Trainer P Kalinowski was advised the mare will be required to trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Raced wide for the majority.
 
RODIAN BULL- Raced wide for the majority.
 
PUBLICAN’S PURSE- Momentarily held up for clear running soon after entering the home straight. Shifted in approaching the winning post momentarily hampering another runner. Jockey S Lacy was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.


 
 
Race 6: VALE STEPHEN CLARKE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1200m
 
The start of this race was amended to 7:58pm to allow App Rabjones to be attended to by QAS.
 
 
CRAIGLEA ICON- Began awkwardly.
 
PENNYWORTH- Awkwardly place on heels for a short distance passing the 600m.
 
ILIKEIT I LOVEIT- Awkwardly placed on heels passing the 600m. Inclined to shift out under pressure down the running.
 
YAMUMZA- Raced wide for the majority.
 
SHE’S SO VAIN- Commenced to tire from the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
 
 
Race 7: STRATHAYR MAIDEN HANDICAP 1850m
 
The start of this race was amended to 8:30pm to accommodate for earlier delays
 
 
BLAZING FAIRY- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
POWER PUNCH- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Raced wide for the majority.
 
OCEANARIUM- Momentarily eased passing the 1700m to obtain a position behind the leader. Inclined to lay out passing the 1600m, to the course proper crossing awkwardly.
 
OCONEE- Raced wide from the 900m. Jockey M Murphy was fined the sum of $300 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he did use his whip on 8 occasions, 3 more than permitted, prior to the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the right foreleg. Trainer T Lambourn was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
