After taking evidence from App Rabjones and the riders in the immediate vicinity of the incident and reviewing the official patrol footage Stewards determined that Soon after passing the winning post TEST OF WAR (G Geran) had improved onto the heels of another runner and shifted out marginally, CALM SEEKER (App I Rabjones), which was racing to the outside of TEST OF WAR, then dipped and shifted out away from that runner bumping SEEKING GUIDANCE (B Newport), causing App Rabjones to become unbalanced and dislodged. As no individual rider was implicated as culpable either by the evidence of another rider or the official patrol footage no action was taken other than to report the incident as a racing incident. Toowoomba 29th January 2022Race 1- TRICARE WILLOW GLEN CLASS 1 PLATE 1300mStewards today concluded an inquiring into the reasons ROMANCE FACTOR (App Rabjones) was checked passing the 600m. After taking evidence from the riders involved and reviewing the official patrol footage it was determined that passing that point ALL ELLIE (G Geran) shifted out around the heels of I AM SUPERIOR (M Murphy), which had simultaneously shifted out marginally, whilst not fully clear of ROMANCE FACTOR, which had been racing tight with SHEPPEY (M Saava) and was checked as a result. Stewards considered the outward shift from I AM SUPERIOR, which took ALL ELLIE wider than intended by its rider as well as the fact ROMANCE FACTOR and SHEPPEY were racing tight leading into the incident which exacerbated the severity of the interference to be mitigating factors. However, Stewards determined that Jockey G Geran had erred by shifting out when not fully clear of the ROMANCE FACTOR, ultimately caused the incident, and as such reprimanded Jockey Geran under the provisions of AR131(a).
