Race 1: BLACK & WHITE CABS BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1300m
 
TRIPPLE ARROW- Trainer J Bellamy will be fined $200 under the provisions of LR68 for failing to scratch the gelding by the prescribed time.
 
NAVAL STRIKE- Slow into stride.
 
PUCKO- Became awkwardly placed on heels soon after the start. Inclined to race keenly in the middle stages. Inconvenienced by a tiring runner passing the 500m. Took the home turn awkwardly.
 
THE IRONS- Whilst racing somewhat ungenerously passing the 1250m shifted out and crowded BETTER ETHICS (App A Patis) causing that runner to become awkwardly placed on heels. App E MacPherson was reprimanded and advised to exercise greater effort in straightening her mount in similar circumstances. Inclined to lay out under pressure approaching the wining post.
 
BETTER ETHICS- Became crowded and awkwardly placed on heels passing the 1250m.
 
MELODEON- Shifted out away from heels passing the 1200m. Laid in rounding the home turn and became awkwardly placed on heels having to be eased momentarily and shift out.
 
PENASQUITO- Inclined to race keenly in the middle stages. Raced ungenerously leaving the 900m.
 
WINTER RAIN- After being caught wide in the early stages and being inclined to race keenly whilst being restrained Jockey S Bogenhuber elected to make a forward move passing the 900m obtaining the lead and a position closer to the inside running rail passing the 600m.
 
GHETTO BOY- Commenced to tire from the 500m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. App I Teh advised that, in her opinion, the gelding resented the kickback in running. Trainer C Rogers will be advised a warning will be placed on the geldings performance.
 
KEEP ON LOVING YOU- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
 
Race 2: CARPET ONE CLASS 2 PLATE  1000m
 
HIDDEN SPRING- Despite being buffeted on jumping began well and settled further forward than may have been expected. Shifted out to obtain clear running approaching the 200m.
 
HISGRACE- Dwelt in the barrier and was slow into stride.
 
CONGLOMERATE- Bumped on jumping.
 
TWOGOBOOM- Bumped on jumping.
 
SHIPIERRO- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Shifted out to obtain clear running passing the 200m. Jockey K Yoshida dropped his whip passing the 200m.
 
WRITTLE- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Lost an off-hind plate in running.
 
KEEP MOVING FORWARD- Shifted in and away from another runner which was laying in over the concluding stages. App E MacPherson was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she did use her whip on 7 occasions, 2 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 3: CONGRATULATIONS COURTNEY & SCOTT ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT MAIDEN HANDICAP 1625m
 
FRIEND OF GOD- Trainer E Hayes was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR227(a) for negligence in presenting the mare for pre-race inspection with unstitched bandages, which subsequently delayed that start of the race. Began awkwardly, shifted out and hampered STAR DIVA. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
CRAYPOT- App J Williams was permitted to claim on 2.5kg of his 3kg allowance. Trainer K Lees was reprimanded under the provisions of AR227(a) for failing to comply with the rider overweight policy.  Began awkwardly and was slow into stride, subsequently settling further back in the field than expected. Bumped passing the 1300m.
 
STAR DIVA- Began awkwardly and was slow into stride after being hampered by another runner on jumping subsequently settling in a trailing position. Stewards questioned App W Peel into the tactics adopted on the gelding in the early stages after being hampered on jumping, specifically in that she permitted her mount to lose contact with the field and perhaps should have been more vigorous in her urgings in those early stages. App Peel advised that after being hampered on jumping her mount was reluctant to stretch out and failed to respond to her urgings in those early stages. Stewards noted App Peel’s comments.
 
WAR WAGON- Raced wide for the majority. Commenced to lose ground from the 800m and finished significantly tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a poor post-race recovery. Trainer L Gersekowski was advised the gelding would be required to trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
IRRESISTABULL- Raced wide in the early stages. App M Kennedy advised that her mount had raced greenly throughout the event.
 
SCENIC RIM- Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
ZOUESAY- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MR REDDINGTON- Over-raced approaching the 1300m and bumped with another runner passing the 1300m. Continued to race keenly for the majority of the back straight.
 
 
 
Race 4: HARVEY NORMAN COMMERCIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 870m
 
A GOOD CHANCE- As Jockey J Murphy was taken ill and unable to fulfil his remaining engagements Jockey G Cartwright was substituted as rider of the gelding. Jockey Murphy was advised he would require a medical clearance prior to again being permitted to ride in races. Shifted out on jumping bumping another runner. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
WINNEBA- Bumped on jumping then raced in restricted room for a short distance. Incline to lay in under pressure down the running becoming momentarily awkward on heels approaching the 100m before being momentarily steadied and shifting out.
 
THE WAITING MAN- Dwelt in the barrier and lost some ground.
 
INTIMATE TYCOON- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority. App E MacPherson dropped her whip passing the 250m.
 
HARD WNOUGH- Raced wide for the majority.
 
Declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey K Yoshida, rider of 3rd placed getter THE WAITING MAN, to view the official photo finish. After viewing the official photo Jockey Yoshida was satisfied with the result and correct weight was declared on the Judges semaphored numbers.
 
 
Race 5: JOE WAGNER GROUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200m
 
DRAGON PINS- Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
SIDEWALK- After beginning well from the inside barrier settled further forward than expected. Bumped by another runner approaching the 600m.
 
CARLIN TREND- Raced wide until a point near the 750m. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
SHOTGUN SONNY- When attempting to shift out from behind cover passing the 600m bumped with another runner.
 
FOREVER VOLO- Inclined to lay in under pressure down he running.
 
 
 
Race 6: LIVING TURF QTIS 3yo MAIDEN PLATE 1300m
 
MARCIA AURELIA- After being fractious in the race day tie-ups underwent a veterinary examination and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 7:57pm on vet advice. Trainer D Groves was advised the filly would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
NO GOING BACK- Refused to proceed to the barrier and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 8:35pm. Prior to declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 8:35pm:
 
13cents in the dollar for the win
11cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
16cents for 2nd place
 
Trainers representative M Haley was advised the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race. A post-race blood sample was taken for analysis.
 
 
INCLUSION- Slow to begin.
 
THE REAL SAINT- Laid out rounding the home turn. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. App I Teh was reprimanded under the provisions fo AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she did use her whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
DABILDOYA- Finished tailed off. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer D Groves was advised the gelding would be required to trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
Race 7: SEDL AGENCIES QTIS 2yo MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
 
UNCOMMON VALOUR- Buffeted on jumping.
 
HURI BLACK- Bumped on jumping.
 
DOLLY DISCO- Bumped on jumping. Raced greenly throughout. Raced wide for the majority. Commenced to tire from the 500m and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer J Judge was advised the filly would be required to trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
