Race 6: KILCOY CUP SATURDAY 4 JUNE DAY OF RACING BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1850 metres Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards reviewed the start of the event as it appeared IN YOUR ELEMENT lunged forward and opened its barrier ahead of the remainder of the field. As part of the review, stewards questioned Starter T Woodham who confirmed that he had enacted the start of the event. After reviewing the Stewards patrol footage, Stewards established that almost simultaneously as the start was affected, IN YOUR ELEMENT lunged forward forcing its barrier to open slightly ahead of the remaining barriers. IN YOUR ELEMENT after lunging forward then stood flat footed and remained in the barriers as the remainder of the field jumped and as a result lost considerable ground at the start. As Stewards were satisfied that IN YOUR ELEMENT did not obtain an unfair advantage at the start of the race as a result of this incident, the provisions of AR 204(2) were not imposed in these circumstances and therefore correct weight was declared on the judges semaphored numbers. NOBLE ARTIST- Declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards acting on Veterinary advice at 2:20pm. As betting had not commenced no deductions were required.
