Stewards permitted the following weight variations:
Race 7: SEAT OF POWER – S Collett 52.5kg (+0.5kg)
 
Race 1: EUREKA STUD Fillies & Mares BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1200 metres
 
COLD HARD FACT – After beginning on terms and caught wide in the early stages, was permitted to stride forward by its rider and lead the event from the 800m.
 
INGEAR – As the start was effectedlunged forward and contacted the front barrier partition. INGEAR was immediately attended to by the veterinary surgeon and an examination revealedthe horse had suffered head injuries in the incident. Subsequently INGEAR was euthanised on humane grounds.A post-race blood sample was taken from INGEAR. Apprentice A Jones was examined by QAS staff and cleared to fulfill her remaining engagements.
 
AMERICAN SAINT – Slow to muster speed in the early stages.
 
SIENNA'S CHOICE – Rider L Cassidy reported after being caught wide shortly after the start he elected to restrain to a rearward position, adding that when the pace quickened in the middle stages of the event SIENNA’S CHOICE was unable to quicken, and in his opinion the horse would benefit from a step up in distance.
 
MISS MCKINLEY – Leaving the 400m bumped with GLOBAL FACTOR.
 
SELF INDULGENT – Bumped with LOVE YERS ALL at the start. Approaching the 400m laid in under pressure.
 
LOVE YERS ALL – Bumped with SELF INDULGENT at the start.
 
GLOBAL FACTOR – Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. Leaving the 400m bumped with MISS MCKINLEY. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 2: BARRIER REEF POOLS Class 3 Plate 1000 metres
 
ALLEZ ZOU – Slow to begin.
 
UNCLE RUSS – Slow to begin and as a consequence settled further back in the field than anticipated. Had difficulty obtaining clear running at the entrance to the home straight and approaching the 200m was steadied from heels and shifted in. Laid in under pressure leaving the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
KING'S EXPRESS – Raced three wide for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MUSCHIALLI – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
SHOCK AND AWE – Raced three wide for the majority of the event. Crowded for room near the 800m when racing to the inside of FUNNY MONEY, before shifting wider on the track a short distance later.  
 
ZENIA – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 3: TOOWOOMBA TRUCK SPARES PAT O'SHEA PLATE QTIS 1000 metres
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight L Cassidy, rider of 4th placegetter RUSSIAN ALLIANCE, viewed the patrol footage in the home straight before electing to take the matter no further.
 
MAGIC OF MILLO – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Raced greenly and was inclined to lay out for the majority of the event.
 
MISHANI CRUISE – Slow to begin.
 
MISHANI RAIDER – Approaching the 500m laid out inconveniencing ADELAD. Continued to lay out rounding the home turn. Near the 200m shifted out and away from TOP FUN before shifting a short distance later.
 
TOP FUN – Jumped in at the start. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. Tired noticeably over the concluding stages and underwent a veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
 
MISHANI STAR – After being slow to begin was shortly after bumped by TOP FUN.
 
RUSSIAN ALLIANCE – Slow to begin. Inclined to lay out in the early stages of the event. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 400m hung out across the heels of MISHANI TYCOON and had to be steadied. Passing the 200m momentarily held up on heels and obliged to shift in to obtain clear running.
 
BETTY BEERS – Bumped at the start.
 
MISHANI TYCOON – Jumped in at the start and bumped BETTY BEERS.
 
ADELAD – Jumped out at the start. Inconvenienced near the 500m. Raced three wide for majority of the event.
 
 
Race 4: MAGIC MILLIONS GARDEN CITY GUINEAS 1625 metres
 
After being loaded into the barriers CAPTAIN'S LOUNGE became fractious, was removed, and subsequently declared a late scratching at 3pm on veterinary advice after becoming cast in the barriers for some time. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on CATAIN’S LOUNGE refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:
 
1st MADAME ODETTE – 1c win, 2c place
2nd DEMON DELIVERA – 3c place
3rd UNCOMMON VALOUR – 2c place
 
Trainer M Nolan was advised CAPTAIN’S LOUNGE must trial satisfactorily and would also require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
ALTAR BOY – Caught wide in the early stages of the event. Laid out approaching the 1300m.
 
FOUR MILE LANE – Slow to begin.
 
DEMON DELIVERA – After being loaded into the barriers and after CAPTAIN’S LOUNGE , which had been drawn to its inside and became fractious, DEMON DELIVERA was removed, underwent a veterinary examination, and was cleared to start.Near the 800m shifted in and crowded TOKYO BLOSSOM. A post-race veterinary examination of DEMON DELIVERA revealed a laceration to the inside of the offside nostril.
 
UNCOMMON VALOUR – Slow to begin. Made the crossing at the 1500m awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. M Cahill, rider of UNCOMMON VALOUR, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
MADAME ODETTE – Laid in shortly after the start resulting in UNCOMMON VALOUR becoming momentarily awkwardly placed at heels. Laid out shortly after entering the home straight.
 
TOKYO BLOSSOM – Leaving the 1500m momentarily hampered when DEMON DELIVERA shifted out when racing greenly. After being held up on the heels of ALTAR BOY at the entrance to the home straight before shifting in obtain clear running.
 
 
Race 5: K&R PLUMBING SUPPLIES BENCHMARK 80 Handicap 1625 metres
 
B Loy pleaded guilty to a charge under AR188(a) in that when weighing out for Race 5 he attempted to manipulate the wearing of a safety vest to gain an unfair weight advantage and was fined $1500. In assessing penalty Stewards noted that B Loy had been penalised for a similar offence on 24th July 2022.
 
DON'T STOP – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. Eased from the heels of DEEP SCEIVA near the 1500m.
 
COULDN'T REFUSE – Raced three wide with cover throughout the event.
 
BLACKLOG – Slow to begin. Raced wide with cover from the 800m.
 
IRUKANDJI – Raced keenly in the early stages of the event. Following the disappointing performance underwenta post-race veterinary examination which revealedno abnormalities. Lost off hind plate in running.
 
LOVEPLANET – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. Momentarily eased from the heels of IRIKANDJI near the 1500m.

HAIL TO THE CHIEF – Raced in restricted room near the 1500m and had to be steadied. When weakening soon after entering the home straight was steadied from the heels of LOVEPLANET and had to be steadied. L Cassidy, rider of LOVEPLANET, was advised to exercise greater care.Following the disappointing performance underwenta post-race veterinary examination which revealed a minor abrasion to the off foreleg.
 
HIGH I CUE – Slow to begin.
 
SHEPPEY – Trainer S Kirkwood was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on the mare. From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to a rearward position closer to the rails. Made the crossing at the 1500m awkwardly. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
 
Race 6: AG RIGGING Class 6 Plate 1300 metres
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight B Thornton, rider of 2nd placegetter RATHLIN, viewed the patrol footage in the home straight before electing to take the matter no further.
 
DESERT DREAMER – Slow to begin. Approaching the 1100m shifted in and crowded DESERT DREAMER which had to be steadied. B Stewart, rider of DESERT DREAMER, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
GAVE US UP – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Approaching the 100m steadied from the heels of MATOWATAKPE which laid out under pressure. B Loy rider of MATOWATAKPE was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.

RUN FOR GLORY – Raced wide with cover for the majority of the event.

RATHLIN – Shifted wider rounding the home turn.
 
RUBAMOS – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
LINTHORPE LAD – Slow to begin.
 
SCOTTISH PRINCE – Rider W Peel reported the horse raced flat throughout the race.
 
 
Race 7: TAB TOOWOOMBA CUP 2000 metres
 
BARTHOLOMEU DIAS – Made the crossing at the 1500m awkwardly. Leaving the 400m bumped with SAYL.

SEAT OF POWER – Raced wide in the early stages of the event.

AUSSIE NUGGET – Slow to begin. Made the crossing at the 1500m awkwardly.
 
CHOCOLATIER – Approaching the winning post on the first occasion laid in and had to be steadied.Raced wide from the 1200m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
OUR SPIDER – Slow to begin. Laid out near the 1600m.
 
SAYL – Stewards acceded to a request from Trainer L Hatch for the late addition of Winkers to the gelding’s gear. Trainer L Hatch was subsequently fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR206(2) for the late gear change. Over-raced for some distance leaving the 1700m. Leaving the 400m bumped with BARTHOLOMEU DIAS.
 
WELSH LEGEND – Made the crossing at the 1500m awkwardly.
 
DREAMTIMER – Commenced to weaken from the 600m.
 
 
Race 8: AUDI CENTRE TOOWOOMBA WEETWOOD 1200 metres
 
BANDIPUR – Crowded at the start. Steadied from the heels of BONAPARTE near the 800m. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
EMERALD KINGDOM – When the off-hind plate was unable to be refitted after becoming dislodged in the tie up stalls, and at the request of trainer D Forster, Stewards permitted the horse to race bare behind. A public announcement was made to this effect. Began very awkwardly resulting in J Byrne becoming unbalanced in the saddle and losing significant ground. J Byrne reported the horse was inclined to lay out for the majority of the event. Near the 900m steadied from heels and shifted out.
 
FLYING CRAZY – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room and had to be steadied near the 900m.
 
GARIBALDI – Crowded at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
HAIL MANHATTAN – Crowded on jumping.Raced keenly for a short distance near the 900m.
 
BONAPARTE – Checked at the start and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
AXE – S Collett, rider of AXE, was reminded of her obligation to ride her mounts out fully to finish of the race.
 
EF TROOP – Jumped in at the start and crowded HAIL MANHATTAN.
 
MASS DESTRUCTION – Jumped in abruptly at the start crowding runners to the inside. Near the 150m shifted out across heels to secure clear running.
 
WHAM – Reared at the start and lost ground. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
LEGAL ESPRIT – Checked by its rider near the 900m. At a subsequent inquiry A Jones, rider of EF TROOP, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that approaching the 900m she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of LEGAL ESPIRIT which was crowded for room, taken inwards and lost its rightful running which in turn caused FLYING CRAZY to be tightened. The licence of A Jones was suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days to commence 5th October (at the conclusion of a previous suspension), up to and including 14th October 2022.
 
 
 
Race 9: MOORE TRAILERS Colts, Geldings & Entires BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1200 metres
 
FOR MY ANNIE – Slow to begin. Approaching the 1100m shifted in and away from MILL ROSSA resulting in WHY WE DRINK being awkwardly placed on heels. When over-racing near the 900m was inclined to lay out.
 
MILL ROSSA – Shifted in shortly after the start crowding MAYA BAY and BE WATER MY FRIEWND. Laid in under pressure approaching the 100m and became awkwardly placed on heels for some distance.
 
BE WATER MY FRIEND – Crowded shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
MAYA BAY – Crowded between runners at the start.
 
SMART IMAGE – After being held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight was then disappointed for a run to the inside of KOSCIUSKO approaching the 200m. Checked passing the 100m. At a subsequent inquiry G Geran, rider of REJOICED, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that passing the 100m he permitted his mount to shift in under riding when insufficiently clear of COAT OF ARMS which was crowded for room, had to be steadied and was taken inwards, which in consequence resulted in SMART IMAGE being checked. The licence of G Geran was suspended from riding in races for a period of 12 days to commence 2nd October up to and including 13th October 2022.
 
COAT OF ARMS – Jumped out at the start. Passing the 100m crowded for room was taken inwards and had to be restrained.
 
KOSCIUSKO – Bumped at the start.
 
RAGING POLE – Raced wide from the 800m.
 
EXPECTANT – Jumped in at the start and bumped KOSCIUSKO.
