Jockey K Zechner subsequently pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR131(a) with his license to ride in races suspended for a period of 11 days to commence on the 30th October up to and including 9th November 2022. In determining penalty Stewards considered Jockey Zechners good record in relation to the rule, his guilty plea and forthright evidence as well as the degree of carelessness and severity of interference which were deemed to be in the mid-range. Mr Munro was admonished for failing to make efforts to alert Stewards to his travel difficulties prior to arriving on course. Pre and Post-race samples were taken from the gelding for analysis.  Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier petition.

BLUE VELVET- May have been incorrectly displayed in some form guides as racing without Blinkers when the mare was to race in that piece of gear. Announcements to this effect were made by way of oncourse announcement and Social Media address. Raced keenly down the back straight. Settled further forward than may have been expected. Jockey M Wishart advised that her instructions had been to be positive from the barrier and attempt to settle near the lead but after her mount began well and mustering speed quickly when urged took up a position outside of MANDALONG NERO as joint leader. Trainer H Willis corroborated the instructions but had not expected the mare to lead, adding that she had expected a forward showing given the mares work leading into the event but was nonetheless pleasantly surprised by the win.
