GENERAL
 
The start times for Races 3 & 4 were amended to 6:12pm & 6:43pm respectively to accommodate the broadcasting schedule.
 
 
Jockey K Zechner was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR127(1) for failing to fulfil his riding engagement in Race 2 due to a scheduling error.
 
 
Stewards acceded to a request from App I Rabjones that she not claim her full allowance in Races 4,5 & 6. App Rabjones was subsequently fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR143(14)(a).
 
 
Stewards acceded to a request from App R Simpson that he not claim his full allowance in Races 4 & 6. App Simpson was subsequently reprimanded under the provisions of AR143(14)(a).
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 1: MPC KINETIC BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000
 
App C Collis was fined the sum of $300 under the provisions of AR127(1) for failing to fulfil his engagement in Race 1 due to arriving on course late. As no apprentice rider was available and acting on request from Trainer M Currie the mare was declared a late scratching at 4:40pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 4:40pm:
 
29cents in the dollar for the win
27cents in the dollar for the place
 
 
ELIZANO- Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost ground. Trainer D Groves was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
I LOVE THIS HIPPY- Began awkwardly and bumped. Improved onto heels whilst laying out passing the 800m having to be restrained. Laid out rounding the home turn and bumped.
 
NICCI DE ROSA- Began awkwardly and bumped. Bumped rounding the home turn.
 
BREAKWATER BOY- Began awkwardly. Inclined to race ungenerously throughout.
 
BY BY MUSIC- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 2: CATHOLICCARE SOCIAL SERVICES BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200m
 
REXX- Began awkwardly.
 
COYNES ROAD- Began awkwardly and bumped.
 
KOBESTAR- Bumped on jumping and was slow into stride. Shifted out around heels passing the 400m.
 
BEST TO HURRY- Began awkwardly. Shifted in marginally passing the 800m momentarily crowding GLOBAL FACTOR. Jockey M Savva was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Bumped approaching the 550m and again passing the 500m and shifted in crowding GLOBAL FACTOR which was restrained as a result.
 
WOLFF BOSS- Shifted out away from heels approaching the 1000m.
 
GLOBAL FACTOR- Momentarily eased passing the 800m when crowded. Restrained when crowded passing the 500m.
 
ART BY CONCORDE- Bumped approaching the 550m and again passing the 500m.
 
 
 
Race 3: TILLY’S BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1850m
 
HEART OF A LION- Began awkwardly and bumped the barrier gate. Obliged to steady off heels soon after the start. Raced keenly passing the 1600m.
 
FIGHTING COMMANDO- Shifted in and away from another runner near the 1800m momentarily tightening IN YOUR ELEMENT. Jockey J Stanley was advised to exercise greater effort in straightening his mount in similar circumstances. Laid in near the 800m. Bumped passing the 500m. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
IN YOUR ELEMENT- Momentarily tightened near the 1800m.
 
OCTAVIAN- Raced wide in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward and obtain a more forward position with cover. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
CHOCOLATIER- Bumped passing the 500m.
 
 
 
Race 4: MERCY COMMUNITY SERVICES CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1850m
 
FLYING JOY- Crowded and eased soon after the start. Obliged to restrain and shift in, tightening HEAZA PLEAZA, when crowded by another runner near the 1400m. Held up on heels near the 500m and unable to obtain clear running until a point near the 250m when shifting in abruptly and contacting the inside running rail. On returning to the mounting yard was found to have raced in the pre-race earmuffs which were erroneously fitted underneath the bridle. Given the circumstances Stewards took no action other than to advise Starter Mr B Mallory to review the practices for dealing with red earmuffs at the barriers and to remind Trainer M Kropp of his obligation to ensure all gear is properly fitted to his runners.
 
CATABRI- Bumped on jumping. Raced wide in the early stages. Shifted in when not fully clear of FLYING JOY near the 1400m resulting in the runner being restrained, shifting in and tightening HEAZA PLEAZA. App C Collis was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) as a result of this incident. Held up on heels approaching the 400m.
 
IRONSIDE- Began awkwardly. Was awkwardly placed on heels near the 1400m. Raced wide from the 800m. Shifted in under pressure down the running.
 
SECRET KING- Began awkwardly shifted out and bumped.
 
CHOSEN DISTANCE- Began awkwardly and bumped. Raced ungenerously passing the 1600m and again when being restrained near the 1400m.
 
FLOWER- Eased off heels near the 1600m when over-racing, raced keenly from then on until entering the back straight. Took the course proper crossing awkwardly.
 
HEZA PLEAZA- Took the course proper crossing awkwardly before being tightened for room soon after and checked.
 
 
 
Race 5: LUCAS FAMILY QTIS 3yo MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
 
KEENZAP- Proved difficult to load and delayed the start. Trainer C Smith was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped.
 
BAMBOLEO- Dwelt in the barrier and was slow into stride then shifted out abruptly soon after. Trailer the field for the majority and finished tailed off. Trainer D Groves was advised the filly would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
WANDA ROX- Bumped on jumping. Restrained early in an effort to obtain cover and a position closer to the inside running rail.
 
BY BY BEAN- Momentarily steadied after improving onto heels near the 400m.
 
HELLO ANGEL- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 6: SWIN CORE MEMBERS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000m
 
RED VODKA- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly, knuckled and was crowded soon after.
 
REOJOAN- Bumped on jumping. Crowded soon after the start.
 
SWEET WIND- Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped. Shifted in marginally leaving the 500m. Shifted in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
 
WELL BRANDED- Began awkwardly shifted out and bumped.
 
IMAGINE THAT- Crowded soon after the start. Bumped passing the 600m. Shifted out under riding to improve leaving the 500m when insufficiently clear of GLENGARRY causing that runner to be tightened and check. Jockey M Murphy was subsequently found guilty of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) with his license suspended for a period of 9 days to commence 6th November up to and including 14th November 2022. In determining penalty Stewards considered the degree of carelessness and interference which were deemed to be in the low range as well as Jockey Murphy’s good record in relation to the rule. Stewards also noted a marginal inward shift from SWEET WIND at the time of the incident however determined that at no time did that runner encroach the running of GLENGARRY and it was the shift from IMAGINE THAT which caused the interference.
 
SINNAMON TOAST- Crowded soon after the start and commenced to buck. Trainer T Pascoe was advised the mare would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
GLENGARRY- Shifted out and away form another runner soon after the start. Bumped passing the 600m. Tightened and obliged to check leaving the 500m.
 
 
 
Race 7: SUBZERO AIRCONDITIONING MAIDEN HANDICAP 2150m
 
JENESSA- Began awkwardly. Jockey L McCoy was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she did use her whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
SUDDEN SUSPECT- After beginning on terms with the field assumed and rearward position and trailed the field by a considerable distance throughout before finishing off fairly.
 
GIRRAMAY- Over-raced in the early stages and raced then keenly for the majority. Took the course proper crossing awkwardly.
 
SANDGATE ROAD- Shifted out around the heels of a tiring runner approaching the 400m.
