GENERAL Stewards permitted the following jockey to ride overweight.Race 1 – Nathan Fazackerley (ANTHROPICA) plus 1/2kg at 56.5kg. Race 1: SUBZERO AIRCONDITIONING RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1625 metres Gratsie – Held up for clear running approaching the home turn. Secret King – Held up for clear running approaching the home turn. Shifted in near the 200m. Subtly Spring – Hung in rounding the home turn. Jumeirah Triangle – Raced in restricted room near the 200m and steadied. Anthropica – Competed Tuesday 1/11/22 and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Held up for clear running approaching the home turn. Dawn Colours – Raced wide throughout. Modern Family –Stewards permitted Apprentice E MacPherson to ride 1kg overweight when no other suitable apprentice was available. Apprentice E MacPherson was reprimanded pursuant to AR143(14)(a) in that she failed to claim her full allowance. Slow to begin. Tycoon Player – Raced wide throughout. Evrynow'n'then – Slow to begin. Race 2: HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY PETER MACKIE BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1625 metres High I Cue – Held up approaching the home turn and until near the 200m. Buin Road – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Tightened near the 1000m when ROSE PIN shifted in. Jockey M Savva was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Our Spider – Near the 1000m raced in restricted room when BUIN ROAD shifted in when over racing. Rose Pin – Raced wide early. Lexi's Choice – Raced wide. Race 3: VALE NORM PANKHURST BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1300 metres Loubard – A post-race Veterinary examination of LOUBARD determined that the gelding had bled from both nostrils and as this was the second offence, LOUBARD will now incur a lifetime ban from racing. Roaring Thunder – Competed Tuesday 1/11/22 and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Artie's Dreamtime –Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being kicked in the barriers and was cleared to start. Raced keenly early and laid in over the final stages. Sheindlin - Competed Tuesday 1/11/22 and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Fractious and became cast in the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 6.48pm. Jockey M Wishart was uninjured in this incident. A post-race veterinary examination found no apparent abnormalities. Trainers’ representative for G Osborne was advised that a barrier certificate would be required prior to the mare resuming. Deductions for the late scratching are as follows. Deductions.1st Loubard – 0 cents win and 2 cents place.2nd Roaring Thunder – 12 cents place. Race 4: SHERRIN RENTALS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 870 metres Patented – Slow to begin. Shifted in near the leaving the 600m. At a subsequent inquiry and taking evidence from rider N Keal (ELEGIST) and G Geran (Patented) it was established that ELEGIST was improving to the inside of PATENTED leaving the 600m as PATENTED was shifting to a position nearer the rail, obliging N Keal to steady his runner. Jockey Keal stated that the run was closing when PATENTED was moving to the rail and could not be satisfied that he had full purchase on the position. Stewards noted the comments and reminded both jockeys to exercise care. Elegist – Slow to begin. Disappointed for a run near the 600m and steadied. Ask Audrey – Late scratching at 6.16pm after trainer P Sexton advised stewards that the mare was displaying clinical signs of clinic enroute to the course. Mr Sexton was advised that a Veterinary Certificate would be required prior to it resuming. Remember Mary – As Jockey K Zechner was delayed from another venue he was replaced with W D’Avilia. Race 5: WHOLESALE HORSEWEAR HOUSE Maiden Handicap 1625 metres Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey N Fazackerley (BAGUIO placed 4th) and after viewing the replay lodged a protest, against the 2nd placegetter WHEN DOVES FLY (M Savva) alleging interference in the early part of the straight. Stewards after considering the evidence which also included statements form trainer S Kirkwood dismissed the objection.Stewards then lodged a protest 4th (BAGUIO) against 3rd (THREE MORE WISHES) ridden by K Zechner. It was established that near the 250m THREE MORE WISHES was directed out and in doing so carried CAPTURED IN TIME (N Masuda) wider and across the rightful running of BAGUIO obliging its rider to check his mount. Stewards when considering the interference suffered to BAGUIO, the ground lost due to the interference and considering the long neck margin, upheld the protest and amended the judges’ placings to 8-11-4-5. Torysue – Slow to begin. Post-race veterinary examination determined that the mare had bled from both nostrils. Trainers J Sims was advised that the mare would be stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of a steward prior to resuming. Trainer advised that it was his likely intention to retire the mare. That's My Opinion – Raced wide for the majority. Jockey C Whiteley reported that the gelding was under pressure from the 600m and may not have appreciated tonight’s racing surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Baguio (NZ) – Checked near the 250m and lost ground. Jockey K Zechner (THREE MORE WISHES) was charged and found guilty pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 250m he directed his mount outwards when not sufficiently clear of CAPTURED IN TIME (N MASUDA) resulting in it being brushed, forced wider and across the rightful running of BAGUIO causing it to check and lose considerable ground. The license of K Zechner to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence M/N 14/11/22 and expire M/N 25/11/22. Three More Wishes – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Captured In Time – Forced wider near the 250m. Angelic Archer – Shifted in slightly hear the 250m when tiring. When Doves Fly – Laid in rounding the home turn and in the straight. Race 6: TAYLOR BUILDING GROUP Maiden Handicap 1300 metres The start was delayed several minutes due to the Protest Hearings in Race 5. Witness Attack – Over raced early. Laid in approaching the 250m. Bringme – Stewards permitted Apprentice E MacPherson to ride 1kg overweight when no other suitable apprentice was available. Apprentice E MacPherson was reprimanded pursuant to AR143(14)(a) in that she failed to claim her full allowance. Hampered and had difficulty obtaining clear running near the 200m Newmarket Miss – Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the home turn. Duchess Bree – Jockey C Eaton was replaced with M Savva after taking ill. Kizmet Magik – Trainer Phil Bobic was reprimanded pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch a dual acceptor by the prescribed time. Turf Edition – Checked and lost ground approaching the 250m. At a subsequent inquiry Jockey W D’Avilia (VANCITY) was charged with careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) and found guilty in that near the 250m he directed his mount outwards when not sufficiently clear of TURF EDITION contributing to it to being checked between VANCITY and WITNESS ATTACK (N Fazackerley) and lose ground. Jockey N Fazackerley (WITNESS ATTACK) was charged and pleaded guilty with careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 250m when under vigorous riding and laying inwards he contributed to TURF EDITION being checked between VANCITY and WITNESS ATTACK and losing ground. Stewards when considering the culpability of both riders were of the view that a 14-day suspension should be applicable and after apportioning 50% of the blame to both W D’Avilia and N Fazackerley suspended the license of W D’Avilia to ride in races for 7 days to commence M/N 13/11/22 and expire M/N 20/11/22. Jockey Fazackerley’s license to ride in races was also suspended for 7 days to commence M/N 14/11/22 and expire M/N 21/11/22. Vancity – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Race 7: SELECTED SEEDS Class 3 Handicap 1000 metres No racing incidents.
