THUNDER MOON- Shifted in and bumped on jumping. Bumped approaching the 400m before shifting out and bumping a further runner. Raced wide for the majority. Performed disappointingly. Jockey J Adams advised that, in his opinion, the gelding would have been better suited to a step up in distance rather than down to the 1000m of todays event. Stable representative B Currie advised the geldings preparation had been interrupted due to inclement weather leading into todays event and concurred with Jockey Adams assessment, adding the gelding would derive a significant fitness benefit from todays run.

OUTBACK PLAYBOY- Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority. Bumped approaching the 400m. Finished tailed off. Race 6: MORT & CO MAIDEN HANDICAP 870m

Declaration of correct weight was delayed when connections of 4th placegetter, CYCLONE GUS, lodged an objection against 2nd placegetter, POINT BREAK, alleging interference over the final 150m. After taking evidence from connections of both runners and reviewing the patrol footage Stewards determined that CYCLONE GUS had shifted in abruptly on its own accord passing the 150m before being marginally crowded by POINT BREAK near the 50m at which time it was reluctant to improve into the run between POINT BREAK and SUBSTITUTION, before the run widened as a result of POINT BREAK shifting out. After considering the matter in its entirety Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had the interference incurred by CYCLONE GUS not occurred that the gelding would have finished ahead of POINT BREAK and as such dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the Judges semaphored numbers.
