GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following jockey to ride overweight.
Race 2 -Gary Geran plus 1kg at 55kg.
 
 
Race 1: FOCUS HR QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1200 metres
Mishani Aviator – Difficult to load and delayed the start. Trainer L Ross was advised that a warning would be place on the gelding regarding its barrier manners.
 
Tequila Stealer – Laid in throughout. Rider reported that the gelding over raced and refused to settle. Trainer J Capewell advised stewards that it was now his intention to spell the gelding.
 
Boogiewithmahbaby – Slow to begin.
 
Frozen Miss – Raced greenly throughout. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight. Apprentice J Molloy was fined $200 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip 7 times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.
 
Just A Hero – Very slow to begin. Jockey L McCoy was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in the she used her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
 
 
Race 2: TALENTSPRING Maiden Handicap 1850 metres
 
Right Light (NZ) – Near the 400m improved onto the heels of tiring runners and was inconvenienced.
 
Misclick – Began awkwardly. Near the 1700m was tightened and forced inwards when FOXHOLE commenced to buck and shfted in. Following the poor performance trainer W Hulbert was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming. Trainer Hulbert advised stewards that it was his likely intention to retire the gelding.
 
Frankel Moon – Laid in when placed under pressure in the early part of the home straight. Jockey M Hellyer was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in the he used his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
Foxhole – Commenced to buck near the 1700m and shifted in. Over raced in the early and middle stages. A post -race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer K Loy was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming.
 
Bader – Restrained from the wide barrier.
 
Bramble Bay – Near the 1700m raced in restricted room and became unbalanced.
 
Epic Love (NZ) – Near the 1700m was tightened, checked, and lost its position when MISCLICK was taken in by FOXHOLE which bucked and shifted in. Jockey G Geran was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in the he used his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
Tiger For Life – Over raced early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 3: HAPPY EASTER FROM TOOWOOMBA TURF CLUB BENCHMARK68 Handicap 1625 metres
Sammy – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 200m steading from the heels of East Esplanade which was taken out by AMORE PRIMUS.
 
Arctic Wolf – Tightened on jumping, buffeted, and became unbalance. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
Zadig – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
Amore Primus – Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Laid in for a short distance near the 150.
 
Drop The Pilot – Restrained from the wide barrier.
 
The Dark (NZ) – Performed poorly and finished some distance behind the body of the field. Post -race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer W Baker was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming. Trainer Baker notified stewards that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
 
East Esplanade – Steadied near the 200m when AMORE PRIMUS shifted out.
 
 
Race 4: SUBZERO AIRCONDITIONING Class 3 Handicap 1000 metres
 
 
Lightfast – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Kwami – Apprentice Cody Collis was reprimanded pursuant to AR143(14)(a) for only claiming 1kg of his 2kg allowance.
 
Stop The Rot – Slow to begin, then hampered.
 
Tinder – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
Rockbarton Pat – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Race 5: 1EQUINE - FOR THE EQUINE ATHLETE QTIS Three-Year-Old
BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Recanati – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Held up approaching the home turn. Near the 300m shifted in after steading form heels, bumped with My Moses and became unbalanced. Held up for the remainder of the home straight and unable to be fully tested by its rider.
 
Super Zamboni – Over raced early. Near the 900m steadied form the heels of MISHANI MISTRESS which shifted in. Jockey M Savva rider of MISHANI MISTRESS was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Raced wide. A post- race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an irregular breathing pattern. Trainer M Taylor will report back to stewards in the following days and report any condition which may have affected its performance.
 
Tequila Dancer – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room near the 800m. Near the 200m was tightened and checked when MISHANI MISTRESS shifted in. Jockey Montana Savva rider of MISHANI MISTRESS was charged and pleaded guilty to careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that near the 200m when under hard riding failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting in and causing TEQUILLA DANCER to be checked and lose its rightful running. The license of M Savva to ride in races was suspended for 9 days to commence M/N 15/4/2023 and expire M/N 24/4/2023.
 
Earlston – Raced wide.
 
Alfa Lily – Near the 800m steadied from heels and over raced.
 
Prepotent – Co-Trainer Kylie Geran was fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.
 
Clearly George – Near the 800m shifted in and away from MISHANI MISTRESS.
 
Candy Clouds – Began awkwardly. Raced wide.
 
My Moses – Near the 300m disappointed for a contested run to the outside of TEQUILA DANCER bumping with RECANATI. Held up for the remainder and unable to be fully tested by its rider.
 
Race 6: CREATE WITH COTTEE BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Oakfield Target – Held up from the 200m until the finish and unable to be tested by its rider.
 
By By Music – Broke through the barriers prior to the start being effected and only travelled a short distance before returning to the barriers and underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
Poetic Choice – Bumped on jumping.
 
And Over Again – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide.
 
Kiki Coco – Raced wide.
 
Monday Monday – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide.
 
Bonnie Ev – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Start Strutting – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Over raced early.
