When queried by Stewards Jockey A Allen advised that his mount had never travelled comfortable in running and when it became apparent the gelding was not responding to his urgings when asked for an effort he elected not to pressure his mount down the running, noting that the gelding didn’t tire noticeably when permitted to finish off at its own pace. Jockey Allen was reminded of his obligations to advise Stewards should he have any concerns regarding the soundness of his mounts in a prompt manner after the event. Trainer M Currie stated the stable were disappointed with the performance having expected a forward showing with the gelding having impressed in its work leading into the event. Mr Currie advised on 22 October that the gelding had pulled up well and would undergo a veterinary examination in the coming days and undertook to advise of the outcome.
