Mr Kelly advised that, in his opinion, DALINGI may have appreciated the cushion track tonight as the horse had trialed well on the surface previously and does not appreciate firm tracks, which was the case at Goondiwindi on 8 May when 5th of 7. He added that, in his opinion the performance last start was not poor in that the horse was not beaten far in a field which he felt was of a higher standard than tonight’s race and as such had expected a forward showing.
A post race veterinary examination of DELICIOUS and ONE MORE SHOT revealed both horses to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that both horses must trial satisfactorily, undergo an ECG and have a veterinary clearance prior to their next race starts.
