Race 1: Vanderfield Toowoomba Maiden Plate – 1100m
1st – Dark Charger 2nd – Mishani Warrior 3rd – Swiss Air 4th – Ghost Train

Track temperature: 56 degrees Celsius

MAGNETIC MISS, which reared over behind the barriers, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race.

RAHULA (R. Goltz), which was standing awkwardly, was slow to begin and shifted out, bumping SWISS AIR (G. Cooksley).

MAGNETIC MISS (P. Hammersley) was slow to begin.

GHOST TRAIN (N. Tomizawa) bounded in the air at the start.

Approaching the first turn, RHIATENN ROAD (L. Cassidy), which was racing awkwardly, got its head up and shifted out, bumping with SWISS AIR.

Rounding the home turn, MISHANI WARRIOR (R. McMahon) was held up behind MAGNETIC MISS until straightening.

RHIATENN ROAD hung out rounding the home turn.

Following the race it was noted that RHIATENN ROAD had lost its off hind plate.

1st – Tomcat 2nd – Castle Hill 3rd – Slysera 4th – Mr Favulous

Track temperature: 55 degrees Celsius

SLYSERA (L. Cassidy) and TYCOON COUGAR (P. Hammersley) bumped at the start.

MISS LEIBERT (S. Bogenhuber) began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping REGENCY ROYALE (N. Tomizawa).

TOMCAT (A. Best) began awkwardly.

SPINNING VAULT (T. Harrison) blundered at the start.

Passing the 600m, CASTLE HILL (C. Priest) became unbalanced and shifted in, bumping the running rail and lost ground.

Near the 200m, MISS STASH (R. Goltz) shifted out and bumped BOLD OPTION (M. Hellyer).

Rounding the home turn, MISS LEIBERT hung out.

Over the concluding stages, TRAGEDY (N. Nishio) shifted in under pressure.


Race 3: Tattsbet.com for Great Fixed Prices Class 1 H'cap
1st – Bold Aussie 2nd – American Eagle 3rd – Jam Tin 4th – Glimmering

Track temperature: 55 degrees Celsius

JAM TIN (W. O'Connell) began awkwardly and shifted out.

JACOBUS (G. Geran) was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start, BERNERS LEE (S. Galloway) was bumped by THE ZEDHORSE (R. Goltz), which was taken in by BASALTIC BANNE (C. Priest), which shifted in away from JAM TIN.

Making the first turn near the 900m, TO BE BOLD (N. Tomizawa) got its head up and shifted out.

Near the 400m, HAYSHAR (S. Drake) was checked and obliged to shift out to avoid the heels of BERNERS LEE, which was weakening.


Race 4: Neil Mansell Concrete Benchmark 75 H'cap – 1300m
1st – By Choice 2nd –Grain Trader 3rd – Blow A Kiss 4th - Zeditave Plus

Track temperature: 55 degrees Celsius


TITANIUM ROCK (M. O'Brien) and CRIMSON FIRE (S. Apthorpe) were slow to begin.

Near the 700m, MIRABEAU (N. Yamada) shifted in slightly and bumped with TITANIUM ROCK.

Passing the 200m, R. McMahon, rider of BY CHOICE, dropped his whip.

A post race veterinary examination of PLIERS revealed the horse to have been galloped on on the near hindleg.

A post race veterinary examination of CRAIGLEA GEE TEE, which weakened over the concluding stages, revealed the horse to be lame in both forelegs, more significant on the near side. Trainer P. Fleming was advised he would be required to produce a veterinary clearance for CRAIGLEA GEE TEE prior to its next race start.

Following the race it was noted that MIRABEAU had bled from both nostrils. MIRABEAU will be barred from racing for a period of 3 months.


Race 5: JJ Atkins/Sky Racing QTIS 600 2yo Plate – 1200m
1st – Snipzu 2nd – Pure Shores 3rd – Bullet One 4th – Robert's Command

Track temperature: 55 degrees Celsius

ARAGON (J. Brown) stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground.

PROOF OF LIFE (S. Bogenhuber) had to be checked severely on jumping away between CRAIGLEA MODEL (K. Wharton) and PORT RAIDER (G. Cooksley), which was taken out slightly by SNIPZU (G. Colless).

Approaching the 1000m, CRAIGLEA TEQUILA (D. Missen) was steadied when crowded for room to the inside of BULLET ONE (P. Hammersley), which shifted in and away from ROBERT'S COMMAND (M. Vance).

Nearing the 600m CRAIGLEA TEQUILA commenced to hang out badly and passing the 400m, whilst weakening, was crowded for room between CRAIGLEA MODEL and PROOF OF LIFE, which shifted out slightly.

Approaching the winning post, CRAIGLEA CARINA (N. Yamada) had to be steadied when crowded for room between PROOF OF LIFE and MAFIA PRINCESS (S. Galloway), both of which shifted ground slightly.

Trainer K. Kemp advised that following the disappointing performance of JET STAR, the filly would now be sent for an immediate spell.



Race 6: Kristy Banks Weetwood H'cap – 1200m
1st – Miss Imagica 2nd – Cariad 3rd – Reilly Blue 4th – The Ringmaster

Track temperature: 45 degrees Celsius

GUNDY SON (D. Brown) began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping WARRIOR GIRL (K. Forrester).

KNEEL AND RAISE (R. Goltz) was slow to begin.

P. Hammersley, rider of THE RINGMASTER, was reprimanded for shifting in near the 1000m when not properly clear of RIVER LAD (E. Wilkinson), resulting in RIVER LAD having to be steadied.

Approaching the first turn, HAIZUM (G. Colless), which was racing keenly, got its head up and shifted out towards the heels of THE RINGMASTER.

Near the 800m, MONDEAN (T. Bell) appeared to jump a shadow on the track on 2 occasions, resulting in the rider becoming momentarily unbalanced.

N. Yamada, rider of the winner MISS IMAGICA, was fined $200 for making a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line.

A post race veterinary examination of GUNDY SON revealed the horse to have bled from the right nostril. Trainer Mr R. Heathcote undertook to have the horse scoped upon arrival back at his stables this evening, the results of which he would report to stewards.

HAIZUM lost its near fore plate in running.


Race 7: XXXX Toowoomba Cup – 2100m
1st – Musashi Of Mieko 2nd – Emoticon 3rd – Contract Caterer 4th – Duel Show

Track temperature: 40 degrees Celsius

GO CART (R. Wiggins) and POOR JUDGE (K. Yoshida) were slow to begin.



Race 8: Stathi Katsidis Tattersall's Hotel Class 3 Plate – 1000m
1st – Boardies 2nd – Phantomoftheopera 3rd – Starstreamed 4th – Taimzuptina

Track temperature: 33 degrees Celsius

STARSTREAMED (A. Pattillo) was a little slow to begin and was then crowded between BOARDIES (T. Harrison) and EQUISSENTIAL (J. Letherby), both of which shifted ground.

Shortly after straightening, ANGELUS BELLE (N. Tomizawa) was accidentally struck over the nose by the whip of A. Pattillo, rider of STARSTREAMED (A. Pattillo), which shifted in slightly. As a result, ANGELUS BELLE shifted in and bumped MR BULISTA (C. Priest).

For some distance after the 400m, INNOCENT JACK (D. Green) was awkwardly placed inside the heels of PHANTOMOFTHEOPERA (L. Cassidy).

STARSTREAMED hung in in the straight.
