After hearing Mr Baker’s submission and speaking with the riders concerned Stewards granted Mr Bakers request for the change of rider. Slow into stride. On returning to scale Jky N Vuille advised Stewards that the mare appeared to be awkward in its action from the 600m. A post -race veterinary examination was undertaken and revealed no abnormalities. Stewards spoke with Maleah Hill’s Stable Representative Mr Jason Miller regarding the seemingly improved performance of the mare. He advised Stewards the horse was suited by the quick back up, the horse does settle when racing in a forward position. Today jumping from the wide barrier, he was able to begin well and race in a handy position. He further added the horse has done very little work this week due to the backup, but prior to that she had been working well. He believed that the opposition today wasn’t as strong as in the past couple of previous runs and the stable was confident of a forward showing today. Stewards noted the explanation.
