GENERAL
 
As App. S Vella was indisposed due to transport difficulties, rider changes were made as per the Stewards Summary.
Due to a shortage of riders attending today’s meeting, no action was taken against several trainers in relation to the late declaration of riders.
 
RACE 1: LOCAL BUSINESS MAIDEN PLATE 825M-
 
POP ‘N’ZAC- Began awkwardly.
 
DARK ROCKER- Checked when tightened for room near the 500m. At a subsequent inquiry, Jockey D McIntosh the rider of BARCAROLE was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) for permitting his mount to shift in when not clear of DARK ROCKER causing it to be checked by its rider. Jockey McIntosh’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days commencing midnight 13th July 2019 and to expire midnight 22nd July 2019.
 
RACE 2: DALBY RURAL TRADERS & DALBY MACHINERY CENTRE CLASS B HCAP 1100M-
ON A COMET- Raced wide throughout. Following the event was found to have bled from both nostrils. As this was the first occasion on which the gelding had bled, it will now be banned from racing for a period of 3 months and further, prior to next racing it must gallop in the presence of Stewards over 1000m.
 
JACKO’S A NATURAL- Began awkwardly making heavy contact with the barrier partition. In this incident, the gelding dislodged two teeth.
 
EDENANNIE- Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 
MALEFIC- Improved onto heels near the 600m and was forced to shift wider on the track.
 
SPOT ON- Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
 
RACE 3: GRAINCORP & CHESTERFIELD MACHINERY BENCHMARK 60 H’CAP 1200M
 
No Racing Incidents
 
RACE 4: LOCAL BUSINESS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
 
The starting time of the remaining races was brought forward due to the inclement weather.
 
WICKATAQ- Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
GIVE HER ROOM- Tightened for room on jumping.
 
 
 
RACE 5: LOCAL BUSINESS BENCHMARK 50 HCAP 1400M
 
MOUNTEBANK, VISERION and NOREENA were all scratched at the scratching deadline when no rider was available.
 
BEHIND THE THISTLE- Slow to begin. Shortly after the start pulled up of its own accord resulting in App. M Kennedy being dislodged. App. Kennedy appeared to suffer no injuries in this incident. Trainers representative M Johnson was advised the gelding would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
RAYMAX- Jumped with its head in the air.
