RACE 1: WARWICK RSL MEMORIAL CLUB BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 800m
 
The running of race one was delayed due to MY MOOCHIE and CAMBOOYA ROCK being declared late scratching’s with the following deductions to apply for both runners.
 
            12 cents in the dollar for the win #3
            24 cents in the dollar for place of winner #3
            29 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #6
            28 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #8                                
 
CAMBOOYA ROCK – Declared a late scratching after a pre-race veterinary inspection revealed that the gelding had blood in its mouth and was unfit to race. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on the horse be refunded with the above deduction to apply.
 
MY MOOCHIE – Declared a late scratching by Stewards after dislodging its rider on the way to the barriers, subsequently galloping a considerable distance. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on the horse be refunded with the above deductions to apply.
 
SYLVAN PRINCESS – Kicked at the barriers. A pre-race veterinary examination passed the mare fit to race. Began awkwardly, making contact with another runner to the inside. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
SEALEGS LILLY – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
NOT A BAD JOKER – Began awkwardly making contact with another runner to outside.
 
STORM ANCHOR – Began awkwardly making contact with the barriers.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
RACE 2: WARWICK RSL MEMORIAL CLUB MAIDEN PLATE 2-Y-O & Up. Set Weights – 1100m
 
JAREL’S DRAGON – Slow to begin.
 
LA RANA TORO – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
LITTLE MASTER – Raced wide throughout.
 
HUGHSTAAD – Began Awkwardly
 
MISS MARLO – Slow into stride.
 
 
RACE 3: WARWICK RSL MEMORIAL CLUB BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1200m
 
Following the running of race two Jockey Brad Appo was stood down due to illness, subsequently being replaced for the remainder of his engagements. Jockey Appo was advised he would require a medical certificate prior to next riding.
 
GRAND CHEVAL – Slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
PROUDER – Jockey S. Drake replaced Jockey B. Appo due to illness.
 
BLUE STAR – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
BLETCHY BOY – Raced wide without cover throughout the middle stages.
 
 
RACE 4: WARWICK RSL MEMORIAL CLUB CLASS B HANDICAP – 1350m
 
DEMOCRAT QUEEN – Jockey S. Drake replaced B. Appo. Raced greenly throughout the early stages.
 
WENSLEY ROAD – Bucked shortly after the start and was restrained to a stop by its rider subsequently taking no part in the event. When questioned, Apprentice J. Hodge reported that in his opinion the gelding’s saddle slipped causing the runner to buck. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer R. Drysdale was advised a warning would be placed on the horse.
 
PALMER – Slow into stride.
 
 
RACE 5: WARWICK RSL MEMORIAL CLUB LONG TAN CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1500m
 
RED BOHEMIA – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages.
 
LEPRECHAUN LAD – Slow into stride.
 
NIGHT WOLF – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages.
 
 
 
ROCKABELLA BOY – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, Apprentice N. Keal advised that although the gelding began well, in his opinion the runner failed run on from the 700m proving disappointing. Stewards will speak to trainer B. Currie in the coming days regarding the horse’s post-race recovery.
 
VIRTUITY – Raced wide throughout.
 
FLYING LUCKY – Raced wide during the middle stages.
 
MINIVER – Raced wide without cover throughout.
