WEATHER – OVERCAST TRACK – GOOD (3) RAIL – TRUE

RACE 1: KNIGHTS OF GALLIPOLI MAIDEN PLATE – 800m

CAUGHT REDHANDED – Began awkwardly.

HARLEIGH – Unruly, refused to be mounted and refused to leave the mounting yard. Declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 1:20pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in HARLEIGH be refunded with the following deductions to apply:

0 cents in the dollar for the win #9
10 cents in the dollar for place of winner #9
6 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #5

Trainer G. Parker was advised the filly would need to obtain a further barrier certificate in front of Stewards prior to returning .

MALEFIC – Apprentice R. Goldsbury was reminded of her obligation to not use the whip more than five times prior to the 100m.

BIG DAN THE MAN – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. Jockey R. Williams reported that the gelding was inclined to hang out rounding the home turn. Jockey Williams was reminded of her obligation to not use the whip more than five times prior to the 100m.


RACE 2: VETERANS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1350m

HYNATRID – Over raced throughout. Restrained off heels at the 850 and again at the 700m.

RIMMISKI – Raced wide without cover throughout.

ROSEBERRY AFFAIR – Raced wide without cover throughout. Apprentice M. Schrapel was reprimanded for his use of the whip more than five times prior to the 100m.

JUST A SEC - Raced wide without cover throughout.




RACE 3: WARWICK RSL MEMORIAL CLUB LONG TAN CUP BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1500m

SHADOW EMPIRE – Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.

ROBERTS COMMAND – Slow to begin.

RAHDANE – Imporved and had to be restrained off heels at the 850m. Held up for clear running
in the home straight.

MARVEL – Raced wide throughout

ARLIS – Slow to begin. Jockey T. Banks was reprimanded for his use of the whip more than five times prior to the 100m.

SINGARAJA – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the home straight.

PRINCESS TORIO – Raced wide without cover throughout.

SAIL THE STARS – Raced wide without cover throughout.


RACE 4: LAST POST BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1100m

OVERGROWN – Upon returning to scale Jockey R Goltz reported that his mount was not responding to hard riding well enough to take advantage of an inside run in the home straight.

SHE’S OUR DESTINY – Began awkwardly brushing a runner to the outside.

OMISSION – As Jockey B. Appo was dual engaged and was subsequently replaced by Apprentice N. Keal.

EXCEEDINGLY KOOL – Upon returning to scale Jockey T. Banks reported that the gelding was inclined to hang out throughout the event.

TRY ‘N’ CATCH ME – Slow to begin. Crossed the heels of another runner to obtain a position on the rail at the 850m. Held up for clear running down the home straight.

CAN HE RAP – Raced wide without cover throughout.


RACE 5: ANZAC OPEN HANDICAP – 1100m

BAKER BOY – Shifted out to obtain clear running at the 100m and continued to lay out under pressure.

EXTRA SHOT – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, Apprentice S. Sweeney reported that after beginning awkwardly she was unable to obtain a leading position as instructed. Further to this she felt that the gelding weakened over the concluding stages and in her opinion failed to back up from its previous run. Stewards noted Apprentice Sweeney’s explanation.

TURBO TEDDY – Raced wide without cover throughout.

TORERO – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the home straight. Pulled up shortly after passing the winning post. A. post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
