GENERAL
 
Due to the abandonment of an interstate meeting, the start times of Races 1 to 5 were all brought forward two minutes.
 
As Apprentice N. Fazackerley was not attending the meeting today for personal reasons, a riding replacement was made in Race 4 as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: BROWNLIE CONCRETORS FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M
 
TINY TEE – Bumped on the hindquarters by MYKISS FROMA ROSE which was bucking shortly after the start. Raced ungenerously with its head in the air for some distance whilst being restrained near the 800m.
 
AZZAGIRL – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
BABYLON EXPRESS – Jumped with its head in the air, and then tightened for room and lost ground. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
 
MYKISS FROMA ROSE – Commenced to buck shortly after the start resulting in jockey C. Eaton being dislodged. In this incident, jockey Eaton sustained an injury to her ankle and was subsequently transported to hospital for further observation. Jockey Eaton will be advised that she will require a medical clearance prior to resuming riding. The stable representative for trainer M. Boland was advised that the mare will require two further barrier certificates prior to next racing.
 
MAGULI – Bumped heavily near the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BLUE CORNER – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. Hung out in the middle stages.
 
SIMDERELLA – Bumped at the start.
 
MINAJ A STAR – Shifted out slightly near the 800m and made heavy contact with MAGULI. 
 
As jockey C. Eaton was transported to hospital, riding replacements were made in Races 2, 4 5 and 7 as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 2: RAHEEN STUD / W. CAREY & SONS COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1100M
 
As SET BEAT has not raced since 18 August 2018, the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
The start of this race was delayed when TAKEMEOUTBACK, which became fractious in the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
The start was further delayed when TAKEMEOUTBACK proved difficult to load when being reloaded into the barriers.
 
The start was then further delayed when BARNEY’S LAW also proved difficult to load.
 
BARNEY’S LAW – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
MIGHTY ROCK – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. Hung out throughout.
 
VERVE – Knuckled on jumping away.
 
SET BEAT – Clipped heels and blundered near the 900m when TAKEMEOUTBACK shifted in. J. Hodge, the rider of TAKEMEOUTBACK, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 131(a) in that near the 900m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SET BEAT which clipped heels when forced to race close to the heels of TAKEMEOUTBACK for some distance. Jockey Hodge’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 28 March 2020 and expire at midnight on Sunday 5 April 2020. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration jockey Hodge’s guilty plea and his prior good record in relation to this rule.

TAKEMEOUTBACK – Hung out throughout and proved difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to both of the gelding’s hind legs consistent with it being galloped on.
 
Race 3: MAGIC MILLIONS QTIS 3YO CLASS 1 PLATE – 1100M
 
EMOTIVE MOUNTAIN – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
ORSETTO – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
BOBBIE JO – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
 
RAKU’S SECRET – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. 
 
READY BABE – Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight before shifting to the outside to secure clear running.
 
EXCEPTIONAL BELLE – Jumped with its head in the air and lost ground. Raced wide in the early stages. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
FEI LIAN – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
Race 4: TOP X WARWICK BENCHMARK 68 H’CAP – 1200M
 
VASSA BLUE, which made contact with the enclosure fence, was examined by the veterinary surgeon upon arriving at the barriers. The gelding was declared at late scratching at 3.04pm on veterinary advice after blood was found on its off hind hock.
 
HEART ATTACK – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
COLLINS CREEK – Raced ungenerously in the early stages and then raced keenly.
 
UNO AMOR – Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
MAC’S GAL – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 5: CROSSDRAW WESTERN EMPORIUM BENCHMARK 58 H’CAP – 2000M
 
ANIMAL INSTINCT – Bumped at the start.
 
THE POTATO PONTIFF – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
MOSS GO NOW – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
BRUMBY JACK – Bumped at the start.
 
WESTBROOK WARRIOR – Began awkwardly.
 
CLEAR SAILING – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
Race 6: GILLOTT CONSTRUCTIONS COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1350M
 
THE IRONS – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
STUDLY ROOSTER – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Steadied from heels for some distance between the 600m and the 500m.
 
MY BOY MISCHKE – Tightened for room at the start.
 
JACKO’S A NATURAL – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which tailed off, revealed the horse to be exhibiting a poor post-race recovery. Trainer S. Sixtus was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing.
 
VICTORY IS MINE – Tightened for room at the start. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which tailed off, revealed that it had tied up. Trainer P. Cartledge was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing.
 
Race 7: ASSUMPTION COLLEGE WARWICK FILLIES & MARES BENCHMARK 55 H’CAP – 1350M
 
RUBY RUSH, which had become fractious on the float, was declared a late scratching at 3.10pm on veterinary advice.
 
ABB ROY – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
DAISY’S APART – Became fractious in the barriers.
 
FAST ARLI – Tightened for room on jumping away and lost ground.
 
TOCOKOE – Refused to jump and took no part in the race. Trainer R. Smith was advised that the mare will require a further barrier certificate prior to next racing.
 
BOLTIN’ DESIRE – After being caught wide, the mare was allowed to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader near the 900m.
 
BRIGHTER DAYS – Began awkwardly. Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
SIZZLING SUN – Trainer M. Currie advised that it would be the intention for the mare to be ridden further back in the field today if circumstances permit. The mare subsequently settled in a midfield position. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
