Race 1: HIRE SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP2000 metres
 
PRINCELY SUM was fractious in the tie-up stalls. Underwent a veterinary examination which identified lacerations to its head and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1:00pm. All monies invested on PRINCELY SUM were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 1:00pm:

Trainer B Costello was was advised the gelding will require a veterinary certificate prior to returning to racing.
 
MOSS GO NOW – Raced wide from the 800m. Laid out in the home straight.
             
SUPER BAZOOKA – Change of tactics; further back.  Ridden accordingly. Began awkwardly. Near the 800m restrained when disappointed for a run.

GRAND SHANGHAI - After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward to settle outside the leader near the 1000m. Bumped with RESONARE entering the home straight. Shifted out abruptly near the 100m.
 
BRACKEN – Due to the slow pace early was allowed to stride forward to the lead near the 1200m. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
EFFEXX – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
 
RESONARE – Began awkwardly. Entering the home straight was bumped on the hind quarters by GRAND SHANGHAI. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Race 2: GROSS WHOLESALE MEATS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1350 metres
 
CUTABRI – Due to transport difficulties rider B Appo did not arrive to course by required time. As no other rider was available CUTABRI was declared a late scratching at 1:30pm.
 
TWO SHADES – Held up for clear running approaching and leaving 400m.    
 
CAMARILLO – Blundered badly at the start and dislodged its rider. Rider B Newport was assessed by QAS and cleared to resume riding. Racing Queensland Safety Officer was notified of the incident. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings. 
 
DINNY'S A SUSPECT – Held up for clear running approaching the 400m. When questioned in relation to the improved performance Trainer T Hall advised that in his opinion the gelding suited the step up in distance and added that it derived a fitness benefit from its last start.
 
HOYT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
INSIDE INFORMATION – Tightened for room and lost ground at the start. Near the 1000m was checked when tightened for room by the riderless horse. Near the 800m was eased when inconvenienced by the riderless horse.
   
FROM THE GONG – Raced three wide without cover in the early stages.
 
The track was upgraded to a Good 3 after Race 2.
 
Race 3:  WARWICK VET CLINIC FILLIES AND MARES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1350 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow rider J Stanley (MYOLA MILLY) to view the photo finish for first place. After viewing the photo he was satisfied with the judge’s placings and correct weight was declared.
 
LILY OF CHINA - Steadied when the pace slackened near the 900m.
 
XUANNU – Steadied when the pace slackened near the 900m.

MYOLA MILLY – Leaving the 100m when struck by the whip shifted out abruptly. Stable representative was advised that a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners.
 
SEMAPHORE GIRL – Slow to begin. When the pace slackened near the 900m, was checked and shifted out to avoid heels.

EMMABROOKE – Steadied when the pace slackened near the 900m.
 
MYSTIC BROOK – Apprentice I Rabjones was reminded of her obligations for steadying the pace of the race near the 900m.
 
ELYSIA – Began awkwardly.
 
LUNAR LUSTRE – Jumped with its head up and lost ground
 
Race 4: WARWICK HOTEL COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1350 metres
 
ARUBA – As the gelding had not raced since July 2019, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was passed suitable to race. Tightened for room, had to be checked and lost ground shortly after the start. Raced wide from the 750m.
 
COURT RULES – When questioned in relation to the improved performance trainer G Banks advised that in his opinion the gelding races well when able to settle on the speed. He added that it had been working well and he had was not surprised with today’s performance.
 
LWAZI – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
RINGO'S MAGIC – Bumped by COURT RULES at the start and shifted out. Raced wide throughout. Shifted out in the early part of the home straight.
 
SYNONYMS – Rider C Taylor reported that the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action throughout. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings.      
 
THE KNIGHT – Became fractious in the enclosure dislodging its rider.
 
Race 5: FRASER LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT WARWICK NEWMARKET BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1100 metres
 
On arrival to course VOULAIT became fractious in the float. Underwent a veterinary examination which identified lacerations to its head and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:58pm. Trainer M Hemmings was advised the gelding will require a veterinary certificate prior to returning to racing.
 
The start of this race was delayed when an object had to be removed from the track.
 
COLPO DI TAMBURO – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
MOSCINI – Improved onto heels and had to be eased near the 600m.
 
MAKE A RULER - Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SEE FOR YOURSELF – Approaching the 200m was accidently stuck across the nose by the whip of apprentice M Potgieter (PIERDAE).
 
THE BUMBLEBEE – Lost a near fore plate in the enclosure, had to be replated and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race.
 
 
Race 6: WARWICK CREDIT UNION WARWICK CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1500 metres
 
MELTED MOMENTS – Slow into stride. Raced keen until near the 800m.
 
ROSIE POSIE – Bumped by YABA DABL DOYA rounding the home turn.
 
TABARD – Leaving the 900m bumped on the hind quarters by MELTED MOMENTS which shifted out when racing keen.
 
JOCHBERG – Raced three wide until the 800m. Steadied from heels near the 400m. Hung out from the 600m until straightening.
 
YABA DABL DOYA - Bumped ROSIE POSIE rounding the home turn.
 
TEMUJIN'S RULE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide from the 800m.
 
BRYAN – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. BRYAN shall not without the permission of the Stewards under AR79(4)(a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. Stable representative advised that consideration would be given to retiring the gelding.
 
 
Race 7: HUTCHISON QUARRIES BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP1100 metres
 
The start was delayed when HEART OF KINGS became fractious in the barriers and got its off foreleg up. Underwent a veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be on the lame off foreleg and was subsequently declared a late scratching scratching at 5:10pm. All monies invested on HEART OF KINGS were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 5:10pm:

Trainer G Barbierato was was advised the gelding will require a veterinary certificate and a barrier certificate prior to returning to racing.
 
SECONDOFMAY which was in the adjacent barrier stall to HEART OF KINGS, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race.
 
WOLFF BOSS – Over raced in the middle stages. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
DANINA - Steadied from heels near the 600m.
 
VINCERO – Began awkwardly.
 
WALL STREET TYCOON – Tightened for room and lost ground.
 
CRAB BOY – Tightened for room and lost ground.
 
DREAMALINA – Hung out in the middle stages. Rider V Venkaya was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, which is one more than permitted.
 
TOECANARGIE MAN – Began awkwardly and tightened CRAB BOY.
 
 
SOGNI – As the mare had not raced since October 2019, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was passed suitable to race.
 
GRANDIOSO – Bumped rounding the home by VINCERO which shifted out.
 
ISLAND TIME – Weakened from the 300m. Post-race veterinary examination revealed laceration to the near hind leg which was consistent to it being galloped on.
