Race 1: MICHAEL NOLAN RACING QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 800 metres
 
BAD BOY DARBY – Near the 600m whilst racing keenly, was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of ILIKEIT ILOVEIT.
 
LEGAL ESPRIT – Began awkwardly.
 
REACHOVER – Began awkwardly. Leaving the 200m shifted in abruptly under pressure.
 
THE LAST RESORT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
ILIKEIT ILOVEIT – Hung out near the 600m and raced greenly for the remainder of the event.
 
TENACITY JANE – Laid out over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 2: WICKHAM FREIGHT LINES Maiden Handicap 800 metres
 
The start was delayed when SKYFACTOR became fractious behind the barriers and as a result underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. App. A Jones also examined by QAS and was subsequently cleared to ride.
 
The start was further delayed when AND OVER AGAIN became caste in the barriers and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently declared a late scratching scratching at 2:17pm. All monies invested on AND OVER AGAIN were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 2:17pm:

KINGSFORD TIGER – Raced wide throughout.
 
MAGIC BOOM – Slow to begin.
 
DUSTY HAZE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SASANQUAS – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SINE CURVE – App. T Townsend reported that her mount laid in in the straight.
 
ZARAGIGI – Slow to begin.
 
THE LAST DRAGON – Laid in under pressure in the home straight and proved difficult to ride.
 
 
Race 3: BASIL NOLAN JNR MEMORIAL QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
Start was delayed when MISS BEAT was presented to the enclosure with unapproved gear. Trainer M Kropp was subsequently issued a $200 fine under AR206(1).
 
The start was further delayed when COOL ESPRESSO who became fractious in the enclosure, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race.
 
CHARGED – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
 
THAT'S MY OPINION – Rider C Taylor reported that his mount hung out throughout.
 
MADE OF MONEY – Near the 800m was steadied whilst racing in restricted room to the inside of COOL ESPRESSO which was taken in momentarily by FLYING BENNY. Approaching the 600m was checked and lost ground when tightened for room to the inside of COOL EXPRESSO which shifted in marginally. App. A Jones was reprimanded under AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear to do so.
 
SAM'S A NATURAL – Began awkwardly.
 
GIRL CRUSH – Began awkwardly.
 
SHEZANUISANCE – Bumped on jumping. Laid in throughout. Held up for clear running from the 400m until the early part of the straight.
 
FLYING BENNY – Began awkwardly making contact with SHEZANUISANCE. Raced greenly throughout.
 
MISS BEAT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
COOL ESPRESSO – Proved difficult to load. Lost an off hind plate in running.
 
 
Race 4: RANBUILD WARWICK / WE R SIGNS Class 3 Handicap 1200 metres
 
CHICAGO O'BRIEN – Raced wide throughout.
 
MILITARY KINGS – Blundered when tightened for room on jumping. Rider B Moffat was issued a $300 fine under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
HEART OF KINGS - Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
SPARTAN JET – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 600m improved onto the heels of JUST FAVULOUS and blundered. Near the 200m shifted in under pressure and made contact with PATRIOTIC ROSE.
 
PATRIOTIC ROSE – Was steadied from the heels of SPARTAN JET which was taken in by CHICAGO O’BRIEN which shifted abruptly at that point. Rider R Goltz was reprimanded under AR131(a) for allowing his mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear to do so. Near 200m bumped by another runner.
 
Race 5: GREEN HOMES AUSTRALIA - DARLING DOWNS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 2000 metres
 
THE MINIVAN – Tightened on jumping and lost ground.
 
GOTTA BE FIRST – Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground. Held up for clear running near the 400m. Near the 200m was again disappointed for clear running and shifted out across the heels of AIRLIE MAN.
 
ROTHABYE – Near the 200m was bumped and had to be checked when tightened for room to the inside of ELECTRIC ELLYSE and to the outside of VENECIA which shifted out marginally under pressure.
 
VENECIA – Shifted out under pressure near the 200m and making contact with ROTHABYE and became momentarily unbalanced.
 
BRACKEN – Began awkwardly.
 
SLAUGHTER BAY – Approaching the 100m was steadied when attempting a narrow run to the inside of the tiring BONSEA. App. M Castle was charged under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that she used her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m, that being 16 occasions. App M Castle’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days, to commence midnight 24/1/2021 and to expire midnight 31/1/2021. Due to the excessive nature of the breach, stewards imposed an additional $200 fine.
 
PUCKISH – Raced wide throughout. Rider J Stanley reported that after being caught wide in the early stages he allowed his mount to stride forward and take up a position further forward than anticipated and when asked to quicken near the 700m the gelding failed to respond under hard riding and proved disappointing. He further added that in his opinion the geldings work in the early and middle stages had a detrimental effect on its finishing efforts.
 
REPETITEUR – Near the 1200m shifted wider to improved and raced wide for the remainder.
 
STAR CENTRE – Began awkwardly.
 
TACTICAL MANUEVER – Blundered on jumping and lost ground.
 
AIRLIE MAN – Near the 1400m was steadied when improved onto heels. Near the 1200m was forced wider on the track and was obliged to race wide for the remainder.
 
 
Race 6: CAREY BROS ABATTOIR RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1350 metres
 
Start was delayed when TERRAJOHNA became fractious in the barriers and attempted to duck under the barrier partitions. As a result, the gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race.
 
The start was further delayed when damage caused by TERRAJOHNA to the barrier partitions in barrier one resulted in all runners having to be unloaded and again reloaded to avoid the use of the damaged barrier.
 
 
IN AGREEMENT – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
BUZZER BEATER – Proved difficult to load. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
GRANDE CASADORA – Near the 900m was inclined to lay in. App L Dillion when questioned stated that mare commenced to race ungenerously when racing tight to the inside of other runners and proved disappointing.
 
TERRAJOHNA – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1000m was steadied when improved on the heels.
 
FORT MYER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Leaving the 900m commenced to race with its head in the air whist being restrained.
 
ANIMAL INSTINCT – Raced wide without cover throughout.
