GENERAL
 
Apprentice Jockey O. Webb did not ride at today’s meeting. Rider changes were made as per the Stewards Summary.
 
Apprentice Jockey Z. Sprie was unable to fulfill his riding engagement in Race 6 due to personal reasons. Replacements were made as per the stewards summary.
 
As Jockey C Eaton was transported to hospital following an incident in race four, replacements were made as per the stewards summary.
 
Due to a delay with the Queensland Ambulance Service following the running of race four, the start times of the remaining events were amended as follows:
 
Race 5 – 3:05pm
Race 6 – 3:25pm
Race 7 – 4:15pm
Race 8 – 4:40pm
 
Race 1: GORGEOUS COFFEE LOUNGE KILLARNEY MAIDEN PLATE (1) 1100M
 
 
GRACIOUS KNIGHT - Travelled wide without cover throughout.
 
SIR SLEW – Began awkwardly, bumping another runner shortly after the start.
 
VAIN LUKE –Began awkwardly and lost ground. Apprentice I. Rabjones was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
HYPERION ANGEL- Bumped with SIR SLEW shortly after the start.
 
Race 2: AUSTRALIAN SHOW RIBBONS MAIDEN PLATE (2) 1100M
 
DANECINO – Slow to begin.
 
FREDDY LIGHTNING – Bumped with HEY SPARKY at the 1000m point.
 
EURO ROCKSTAR – As the mare had not raced in over twelve months, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently passed fit to start.
 
HEY SPARKY – Bumped by another runner leaving the 1000m point. Weakened from the 200m. When questioned regarding the seemily disappointing performance, Apprentice L. Barr advised that after beginning well, her mount travelled until the final stages where in her opinion it proved disappointing. Trainer L. Birchley could offer no explanation for todays performance.
 
SWIFT MISS FOX - Travelled wide without cover during the middle stages.
 
 
Race 3: DARLING DOWNS INSURANCE BROKERS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP
 
 
The start was delayed when ZORROS GHOST became fractious in the barriers and as a result sustained lacerations to the right fore leg. ZORROS GHOST was subsequently declared a late scratching by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1:28pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in ZORROS GHOST be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
3 cents in the dollar for the win - #11
13 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #11
16 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #9
 8 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #4
 
Trainer J. Crompton was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to returning to racing.
 
RAPID EAGLE - Began awkwardly, making heavy contact with the barrier partition. Bumped with CYCLONE DIVA shortly after the start. Raced wide from the 400m.
 
 
CYCLONE DIVA – Began awkwardly, bumping with another runner shortly after the start. Held up for clear running for a short distance near the 200m.
 
TROJAN ANGEL – Blundered on jumping and lost ground,
 
SPECIAL DESIGN – Trainer D. Tunnah advised that the mare had an elevated temperature prior to arriving on course and as a result, stewards subsequently declared the horse a late scratching at 8:30am. Mr Tunnah was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing.
 
RUSSIAN ROMEO – Travelled wide without cover from the 300m.
 
SET TO GO WELL – Slow to begin.
 
DREAMALINA – Approaching the 200m, shifted out to obtain clear running. Laid out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
CARLTON STAR – Travelled wide without cover for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 4: SJG PLUMBING DRAINAGE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1350M
 
ANOTHER TOSSER - Slow to begin.
 
CANNY CAT - Began awkwardly making contact with another runner shortly after the start. Held up for clear running near the 600m when MISS BEAT shifted out marginally.
 
KABALEGA - Travelled wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
WATAMOUNTAINVIEW - Leaving the 1200m point, steadied when ANOTHER TOSSER shifted in marginally.
 
IMBATIDO - Travelled wide without cover for the majority. Shifted out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
MANDALONG NERO – Raced wide without cover for the majority. Fell near the 200m resulting in its rider, Jockey C. Eaton, being transported to the local hospital. Stewards will inquire into this incident at a later date. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained an injury to its head. Trainer W. Munro was advised the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to returning to racing.
 
MISS BEAT - Began awkwardly. Shifted out at the 600m.
 
Race 5: HARPER& WILLOW BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1350M
 
VERMUTIN - Began awkwardly and lost ground, Travelled wide with cover during the early stages.
 
BILL OF RIGHTS - Travelled wide without cover for the majority. Hung out from the 200m.
 
WHISTLING ARROW - Laid out under pressure over the final stages.
 
PLATINUM DEAL - Approaching the 600m was held up momentarily.
 
KING BART -Travelled wide without cover for the majority.
 
Race 6: FRASER LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT OPEN HANDICAP 1350M
 
The start was delayed when MISS BULITZ became fractious in the barriers and as a result sustained multiple lacerations to its legs. MISS BULITZ was subsequently declared a late scratching at 3:28pm by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in MISS BULITZ be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
7 cents in the dollar for the win - #3
4 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #3
16 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #8
12cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #2
 
ALL TOO HUIYING – Travelled wide without cover from the 400m.
 
DESTINYS OWN- Travelled wide without cover from the 400m.
 
MURLESS- Travelled wide with cover during the early stages. Travelled wide with no cover from the 400m.
 
KAPPY CINO - Slow to begin, slow into stride. Shifted out to obtain clear running near the 200m.
 
THE HAND – Began awkwardly
 
TEST OF WAR – Slow to begin.
 
ESKDALE GIRL- Made contact with the inside running rail at the 900m.
 
ABB ROY - Travelled wide without cover during the early stages.
 
 
Race 7: WALL TO WALL PLUMBING BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200M
 
 
BRUTUS – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room at the 1000m point.
 
VALAR DOHAERIS – Slow to begin.
 
TOECANARGIE – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 8: MITCHELL MACKIE OPEN HANDICAP 1100M
 
ROCKY NUGGET – Blundered on jumping and lost ground.
 
VOULAIT – Began awkwardly making contact with THE CONSIGILERE. Leaving the 900m was placed in restricted room when MUSIC SCENE shifted in. Jockey H. Richardson (MUSIC SCENE) was advised to exercise more care. A post-race veterinary examination, at the request of the trainer, revealed the gelding to have sustained an injury to the right fore-leg. Trainer M. Hemmings was advised that the horse would require a veterinary clearance prior to retuning to racing.
 
LOVESON - Travelled wide without cover for the majority of the event.
