QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT WARWICK – TUESDAY 28TH DECEMBER 2021 WEATHER – Overcast TRACK RATING – Soft 5, Good 4 after Race 4 RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – R HitchenerStewards – K Daly, J Childs, R HansonClerk of Scales – D RossiterJudge – J Costello, S FaheyVeterinarian – Dr E MaxwellSwab Attendants – D McDonaldStarter – T Woodham GENERAL Due to current Covid restrictions, Stewards permitted the following weight variations:Race 3: RIP WHEELER – L Tilley – 56.5kgs (0.5kg)Race 5: LET’S PARTY – L Tilley – 56.5kgs (0.5kg) Race 1: THE MALTHOUSE Class 4 Handicap 800 metres CLEVER MISS – Inclined to lay out in the early stages of the event. L Barr, rider of CLEVER MISS, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(i) for consecutive use of the whip prior to the 100m. SPIRIT ONE – I Rabjones, rider of SPIRT ONE, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. LILLI LIGHTS OUT – Bumped with RED DRESS on jumping. Raced four wide for majority of the event. BIT OF A BEAUTY – Blundered on jumping and lost ground. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance, trainer J Capewell advised he had been disappointed with the horse’s previous two starts and had freshened BIT OF A BEAUTY for today’s event, and combined with the drop back in distance, was confident of a forward showing today. EASY COME – Raced three wide throughout the event. Rider S Stephan reported EASY COME was inclined to hang in for the majority of the event. RED DRESS – Bumped with LILI LIGHTS OUT on jumping. Raced five wide throughout the event. Race 2: ENSBEY ELECTRICAL Maiden Plate 1350 metres AVOCA – Raced ungenerously when being restrained in the early stages. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. DANEWIN CONNECTION – Slow to begin. FLETCHER'S MUTINY (NZ) – Jumped out at the start and bumped ZABCAN. Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 1000m. ZABCAN – Bumped on jumping away. Raced four wide in the early stages before being restrained to a three wide position with cover near the 800m. Rider S Lacy reported ZABCAN was not suited by the fast early tempo and in her opinion would be better suited in races over a longer distance than that of today at this stage of its preparation. Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 4. Race 3: JUDD BROS CONTRACTING QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1100 metres Correct weight was delayed allowing H Richardson, rider of third placegetter CHISUM, to view the patrol footage in the home straight before electing to taking the matter no further. STOP THE ROT – Bumped on jumping away. Raced keenly in the early stages. CONISMO – Began awkwardly and lost ground. SEENUSCOMING – Raced greenly in the home straight. TOP BIRD – Hung out throughout the event and proved difficult to ride out in the home straight. CHISUM – Bumped heavily at the start and lost ground. Raced greenly and was inclined to lay in the home straight. RIP WHEELER – Jumped out at the start and bumped STOP THE ROT. SHE'S SO VAIN – When unable to be re-plated behind, Stewards permitted the horse to race bare behind. Raced keenly in the early stages. Race 4: HYNES NEWSAGENCY / W. CAREY & SONS MEATS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1100 metres WOLFF BOSS – Began awkwardly. Forced wider when awkwardly placed at heels over the concluding stages. GRANDIOSO – Slow to begin. Near the 100m steadied when awkwardly placed at heels and then was shifted wider when MAHA MUSTANG laid out under pressure. SWEET VENOM – A post-race veterinary examination of the horse revealed lacerations to the near hind heel and the off fore fetlock, consistent with having been galloped on. HONEY BABY – S Lacy, rider of HONEY BABY, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. SEE FOR YOURSELF – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Z Sprie, rider of SEE FOR YOURSELF, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. Race 5: TREVOR SCHOORL MEMORIAL MAGIC MILLIONS COUNTRYCUP QUALIFIER OPEN Hand 1200 metres LET'S PARTY MARTY – After being crossed near the 1100m commenced to over-race when being restrained and continued to do so for some distance. Raced in restricted room when attempting to improve approaching and passing the 100m. GETYOURGREYON – Raced three wide from a point leaving the 800m. RAMTASTIC – Had to be steadied a short distance after the start when racing in restricted room. Raced three wide throughout the event. VINASTA – Slow to begin. Raced three wide for the majority of the event. Race 6: PSP VIDEO RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1200 metres Declaration of correct weight was initially delayed allowing Stewards to view the start of race to determine if URALBA was afforded a fair start. After viewing the patrol footage, it was established URALBA reared of its own accord as the start was effected dislodging I Rabjones and as such URABA was declared a starter. Correct weight was further delayed when the connections of fourth placegetter CAMARILLO viewed the patrol footage in the home straight. After doing so they elected to take the matter no further and correct weight was declared on the semaphored placings. CAMARILLO – Near the 150m had to steadied to avoid the heels of LUVACTION which shifted out under pressure. Approaching the finish line was steadied when runners either side shifted ground. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. AMERICAN SAINT – On arrival at the barriers the saddle on the horse was readjusted. Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. NOT LIABLE – Near the 50m steadied and forced wider on the track when BEACH CLUB shifted out under pressure. LUVACTION – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event. Approaching the finish line was steadied when placed in restricted racing room. BEACH CLUB – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. URALBA – Reared as the start was effected resulting in apprentice I Rabjones being dislodged. I Rabjones suffered injuries to the lower back in this incident and was transported to Warwick hospital for further treatment. Trainer M Kropp was advised URALBA must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. I Rabjones was advised she must obtain a medical clearance prior to resuming race riding. TOP MELODY – As had not started in excess of 12 months, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. BEGIN – Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. SHEINDLIN – Began awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition.
