NEW YORK GAL- Trainer M Currie advised that the results of an endoscopic examination had failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
 
Toowoomba 16/07/2022
 
JOHNNY THUNDER- Trainer B Baker had advised that since the disappointing performance blood samples had been taken from the gelding with the results failing to return any abnormalities.
 
ROGUE STAR- Trainer L Hatch advised that results of an endoscopic examination had failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
 
GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
 
Race 2- Jockey L Miller +1kg
Race 7- Jockey S Apthorpe +0.5kg
 
 
 
As Jockey J Huxtable was not riding at todays meeting due to personal reasons rider replacements were made as per Stewards race day summary
 
Trainer G Payne was fined $300 under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on his respective runners in Races 2, 3 and 7.
 
Trainer T Lambourn was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of LR68(1) for failing to scratch TRACKMAN by the prescribed time. 
 
 
Race 1: SHANNON BOOKMAKING SERVICES QTIS 2yo MAIDEN PLATE 800m
 
RECANTI- Began awkwardly. Eased off heels and shifted out to obtain clear running leaving the 600m.
 
SHE’S MY DAISY- Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
LEADSIDE- Momentarily keen on heels passing the 600m.
 
BETTER WINSOME- Hung out passing the 150m inconveniencing TEMPLEMORE before being corrected by its rider and shifting in bumping with GOBLIN’ DE QUO. Jockey M Hellyer was reprimanded as a result of permitting his mount to shift in and bump with GOBLIN’ DE QUO, additionally Trainer C Anderson was advised a warning would be placed on the fillies racing manners for its actions prior to that incident.
 
TEMPLEMORE- inconvenienced by another runner which hung out passing the 150m having to be steadied and shift out before laying out for a short distance afterwards hampering RADIANT QUEEN.
 
GOBLIN’ DE QUO- Hampered passing the 50m when another runner shifted in and bumped.
 
RADIANT QUEEN- Hampered passing the 100m by another runner which laid out.
 
HELL APPROACHING- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
Race 2: RANBUILD WARWICK BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 800m
 
OUR MUSKETEER- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers and was found to be lame in the off-foreleg and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 12:51pm on veterinary advice. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all monies invested on the gelding to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 12:51pm:
 
9cents in the dollar for the win
8cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
8cents in the dollar for 2nd place
9cents in the dollar for 3rd place
 
Trainer G Payne was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
BASTILLE DAY- Began awkwardly and bumped on jumping.
 
MARRIED IN VEGAS- Slow into stride.
 
LIVELY LASS- Slow into stride and bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey N Thomas advised that whilst his mount had not been fancied in the betting he had expected a more forward showing and was disappointed with the performance.
 
PETA CALADA- bumped on jumping.
 
MAN IN MOTION- Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping bumping another runner. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
LEICA SPECIAL- Laid out passing the 600m. Following the event was fractious in the race-day tie-ups and sustained a laceration to its off-fore cannon. Trainer P Webster was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Mr Webster advised the mare would now be sent for an immediate spell.
 
MISSIE ARCHER- Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
BOOGIELU- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 3: MICK WEST CONCRETING & EARTHWORKS QTIS 3yo MAIDEN PLATE 1350m
 
Declaration of correct weight was delayed when Jockey C Bayliss, rider of 2nd placed getter KISS HELLO, lodged and objection against TOOMUCHINFORMATION (M Hellyer) being declared the winner alleging interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from the riders involved as well as the connections of the two runners and reviewing the official patrol footage Stewards determined that TOOMUCHINFORMATION, which had been inclined to lay out under pressure down the running, shifted out and bumped with KISS HELLO near the 40m causing that runner to become unbalanced. After considering the matter in its entirety, including the short half-head margin, Stewards were comfortably satisfied that had the interference not occurred KISS HELLO would have finished ahead of TOOMUCHINFORMATION and as such ordered the protest be upheld and correct weight declared on the amended placings of:
 
1st KISS HELLO
2nd TOOMUCHINFORMATION
3rd FOXY FRAULIEN
4th PEARLS ‘N’ PIMMS
 
 
BEYONDTASTIC- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Slow to begin.
 
CONTESSA NILE- Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
FOXY FRAULIEN- Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1200m. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
KISS HELLO- Raced keenly on heels near the 1200m and shifted out and away momentarily hampering CANNY BOY. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running. Bumped by another runner passing the 40m becoming unbalanced.
 
CANNY BOY- Obliged to ease off heels near the 1200m.
 
TOOMUCHINFORMATION- Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running bumping with another runner passing the 40m.
 
PEARLS ‘N’ PIMMS- Raced wide for the majority.
 
MANIKERT- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Race 4: WALL TO WALL PLUMBING QTIS 2yo MAIDEN PLATE 1200m
 
 
NOISE WORKS- Trainer T Button was fined $200 under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on the filly.
 
BOOM RAPTURE- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers and was found to be lame in the near-foreleg and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:05pm on veterinary advice. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all monies invested on the filly to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 2:05pm:

9cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
1cents in the dollar for 2nd place
15cents in the dollar for 3rd place
 
Co-Trainers R Lipp and N Hahn were advised the filly would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
MEDIA SCANDAL- Bumped on jumping. Raced ungenerously passing the 900m. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
PHEEBLE’S SPIRIT- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced wide for the majority.
 
ROSE ALICE- Slow into stride.
 
SUNNY DAY- Slow into stride.
 
LORD PROPHET- Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
 
 
Race 5: GILLOTT CONSTRUCTIONS RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1200m
 
ZOU ZOU KACANARKIS- Trainer K Kemp was fined the sum of $200 under the provisions of AR106(1) for presenting the gelding with the incorrect gear. Began awkwardly and shifted out. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
SUMMER STAR- Began awkwardly.
 
SERTIN- Slow into stride. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
SIR PICCOLO- Slow to begin. Jockey J Molloy was fined $300 for his use of the whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
JIMMY NEUTRON- Steadied off heels passing the 700m.
 
RAPID EAGLE- Raced keenly in the early stages. When questioned regarding her riding of the gelding over the final 200m Jockey H Richardson advised that after hanging for the majority of the event her mount had peaked on its run and had nothing left to offer in the home straight. Trainer G Richardson advised that the gelding would now likely leave his stable. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
WHISTLE HOFF- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
 
Following the running of this event the racing surface was upgraded to a Heavy 8 retrospective of Race 5.
 
 
Race 6: SJG PLUMBING & DRAINAGE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100m
 
KEEPMOVING FORWARD- Blundered on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
SEE FOR YOURSELF- Bumped on jumping.
 
MIGHTY MOOSE- Bumped on jumping.
 
MOUNTBATTEN- Began awkwardly.
 
WAIT A MINUTE- Slow into stride. Eased before shifting out to obtain clear running soon after entering the home straight.
 
VERTICAL- Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MR BROSE- Shifted out abruptly approaching the winning post before being corrected by its rider.
 
 
Subsequent to the running of this event maintenance and testing was carried out on the front gate of barriers 2 and 10 which had sprung back slightly after the start was effected.
 
 
Following the running of this event the racing surface was upgraded to a Soft 7.
 
 
Race 7: KARDINIA HOLDING CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1500m
 
BLAVATSKY- Trainer T Lambourn was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on the mare. Inclined to lay out under pressure down the running.
 
MOUNT ZION- Refused to load into the starting gates and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 3:58pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 3:58pm:
 
10cents in the dollar for the win
6cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
10cents in the dollar for 2nd place
13cents in the dollar for 3rd place
 
Trainer J Dunn was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further two consecutive barrier certificates prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
 
 
STELLAR- Co-Trainer G Lane was reprimanded under the provisions of AR227(a) for failing to comply with the overweight directive. Obliged to ease off heels momentarily passing the 1250m.
 
IMITARI- Shifted out whilst over-racing passing the 1250m hampering STELLAR.
 
CAMARILLO- Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
EVERYNOW’N’THEN- Hung out under pressure down the running proving difficult to ride out. Trainer V Heading was advised a warning would be placed on the mares racing manners.
 
FIGHTING MAGNUS- Shifted ground under pressure down the running.
 
MADAM CHA CHA- Inclined to shift ground under pressure down the running, shifting out abruptly passing the 50m causing App O Webb to become unbalanced.
 
REPETITEUR- Commenced to tire from the 500m and finished tailed off. Raced wide for the majority. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer J Gleeson was advised a warning would be placed on the mares competitiveness.
 
 
 
Race 8: TRI STEEL WARWICK RATINGS BAND 0-55HANDICAP 1500m
 
RIVA RIALTO- Bumped on jumping and shifted in.
 
EXTASSY- Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping another runner. Momentarily eased off heels when racing keenly near the 800m.
 
INSIDE INFORMATION- Slow to begin. Inclined to race ungenerously in the early and middle stages, shifting out passing the 1350m hampering ICE ELITE. Jockey R Payne was advised to exercise greater care and effort in keeping her mount straight in similar circumstances.
 
ICE ELITE- Slow to begin. Obliged to steady and shift out away from heels passing the 1350m. Raced wide for the majority.
 
THE CROWMAN- Raced keenly in the middle stages. Raced in restricted room passing the 100m.
 
SPURIOUS- Raced keenly in the middle stages. Shifted out under pressure down the running. Jockey C Meehan was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he did use his whip on 6 occasions, 1 more than permitted, prior to the 100m.
 
POINT THE WAGON- Raced wide for the majority. Performed below market expectations. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer V Heading was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to again being permitted to start in a race.
