GENERAL 
 
Trainer Mr A Briskey advised stewards that due to mechanical difficulties he and his Jockey N Vuille were unable to attend today’s meeting due to transport difficulties Stewards subsequently declared his horses Race 2- DRAGON CLAWS and Race 8- BLUE SMARTIE late scratching at 8.43am. Stewards accepted Mr Briskey’s explanation and took no further action.
 
After the running of Race 1 at today’s meeting Stewards upgraded the Track Rating to a Good 3.
 
Race 1: CAMOREL QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 800 metres
 
BITONTHESIDE– Near the 700m point had to be steadied from heels of HEROIC ROSE. Raced green majority. Trainer K McGovern was advised that a Warning would be placed on the horse for its racing manners as displayed at today’s meeting.
 
SUPER DUCK- Jumped awkwardly and shifted in shortly after the start bumping BITONTHEINSIDE. Then shifted in again in the early stages when racing greenly.
 
FLANK SPEED- Jumped awkwardly and was eased when tightened for room shortly after started
 
HELEN’S DREAM- Was eased when tightened for room shortly after started
 
SUPER EXCEPTIONAL- Jumped awkwardly and shifted out shortly after the start.
 
RUSSIAN DIVA- Began awkwardly and made contact with barrier gate on jumping, raced greenly and hung out for the majority. When entering the home turn proceeded to race extremely wide and raced that way for the remainder of the event. Stewards will contact Trainer A Plum in coming days in a view of requiring the horse to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start. 
 
HEROIC ROSE – Appr E Lang was advised by Stewards to exercise more care at 700m when crossing.
 
 
Race 2: THANK YOU GEORGE MCKENZIE 25+ YEARS Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
HALLSIDE WILDTHING- Raced wide majority
 
MAX’S SOURCE- Bumped heavily with RED HOT LOVE on jumping.  Shifted out on home turn, raced wide majority
 
ZATARA– Lost off hind plate during running. Laid out under pressure over the final stages.
 
MAGIC STEPS- At the 900m point momentarily rolled in on REDVEDEV resulting in that rider having to take hold.
 
RED HOT LOVE- Bumped heavily with MAX” S SOURCE on jumping.  Jky N Tomizawa was required to take hold at 400m to avoid METHIL which tended to roll in at that point.
 
METHIL Approaching 400m when the filly rolled in marginally onto another runner, then raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
TWO TIME GIRL- Jumped awkwardly.  Was forced to shift out entering the home turn as a result of MAX’S SOURCE shifting out then raced wide majority
 
REDVEDEV (NZ)-The rider was forced to take hold at 900m when placed in restricted room due to MAGIC STEPS rolling in marginally and brushed the running rail at that point. Jky C Whitely was advised by Stewards to exercise more care.
 
 
Race 3: BARTRANZ PETROLEUM Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
 
CORSUCAN– Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
WAR HOPE– Began awkwardly when it jumped in the air and lost ground at the start
 
CAPITEEL– When approaching 200m shifted out marginally and inconvenienced DUSTINS.
 
ZIPPING TOM– Raced wide for the majority of the event. Was held up when entering the home straight
 
LIGHT UP THE DAWN- Approaching the 900m shifted in resulting in another runner having to be eased off heels.
 
SHEZANUISANCE – Jumped out and made contact with ORIGINAL GLAZE.  Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
TRUST IN A GALE – Approaching the 900m point had to be eased when laying out onto the heels of LIGHT UP THE DAWN which shifted in. Then raced wide for the majority.
 
ORIGINAL GLAZE – When leaving the 800m did shifted in momentarily and inconvenienced DARKENED DESTINY.  Stewards acting under the provision of AR131(a) reprimanded Jky C Whitely for the incident.
 
RED OSCAR – Raced at the tail of the field for the majority despite the efforts of the rider to improve.
 
DUSTINS- When approaching 200m was eased off the heels of CAPITEEL which shifted out marginally.
 
 
Race 4: BILEENA STUD COUNTRY HEIST BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1350 metres
 
MOSCINI- Was held up after leaving the 400m until early stages home straight. 
 
STRYKING PRINCESS- At approximately the 700m point when racing in a three- wide position appeared to shift in marginally before being corrected by the rider. This shift resulting in STORMTROOPER and DAUNTING WARRIOR being inconvenienced at that point. A subsequent steward’s inquiry in relation to the incident on the evidence provided, and the recorded footage available during the running of this event; stewards could not be reasonably satisfied that any portion of blame could be attributed to any one rider and therefore the matter will be recorded as a racing incident. 
 
DAUNTING WARRIOR- Approaching the 700m point when racing on the inside of Stormtrooper having had established a run to the inside of that runner Appr Jky S Willis was then forced to check her mount and lost ground.
 
STORMTROOPER- Approaching the 700m point laid in marginally resulting in some inconvenience to the runner to the inside.
 
TRY TO BE GOOD – Slow to begin.
 
SUNNY EKCELS – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5: SJG PLUMBING & DRAINAGE BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 800 metres
 
HARD STRIDE– A pre-race Veterinary examination was undertaken with the gelding be passed fit to start. Raced wide for the majority.
 
SAMS A NATURAL– Jumped awkwardly and was bumped by another runner shortly after start.
 
DEVIL’S RITE – Tended to lay in at 600m for a short distance.
 
LEICA SPECIAL- Jumped in the air and began awkwardly, on return to scale Appr Jky E Lang advised stewards that her mount tended to hang out on home turn. Shortly after home turn had difficulty obtaining a clear run over the final stages.
 
EXLOVER– Began awkwardly and then was tightened for room after start.
 
MANDALONG ROMAN – Raced wide for the majority.
 
AL PAL’S GIRL – Shifted out shortly after start.
 
 
Race 6: FRASERS LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
 
BRINGONTHEBUBBLES- Jumped awkwardly and bumped JONDY ROCKET shortly after the start.

HUBBUB – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
OUR MAGNUS– Jumped inward resulting in HEEBEE RIGHT being tightened for room after the start.
 
TISANI EMPEROR- Jumped outward resulting in another runner being tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
JONDY ROCKET – Began awkwardly bumping another runner at the start.  Laid in over concluding stages.  Under the provision of AR184(b)(3) Stewards reprimanded Appr Jky L Sykes when he weighed out without a breast plate being part of all his gear as required to be attached to the saddle.
 
HEEBEE RIGHT MATE- Tightened for room shortly after the start.  Wide majority
 
Race 7: VALLEY HELPING HANDS SUPPORT SERVICES BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 2000 metres
 
BERNIE’S TIGER- When passing the winning post on the first occasion was tightened for room and had to ease as a result from a shift from the runners to the inside. Raced wide for majority
 
CHOCOLATIER (NZ)-Raced wide for majority.  Stewards to inquire into Jky Keal’s use of the whip prior to the 100m in coming days.
 
HARBELLE- When returning to scale Jky J Stanley advised that when entering the home straight his mount was hanging out and proving difficult to ride out of straight despite his best efforts. 
 
YOUNG CLIFFY- When passing the winning post on the first occasion Jky C Whitely was forced to shift out marginally to relieve pressure to his inside as a result of the rider of TYCOON PLAYER electing to take a narrow run to his inside. In doing so, resulted in DESHORENTE being taken outward and with the rider of BERNIE’S TIGER having to check her mount and being tightened for room. During a subsequent inquiry into the incident Stewards commended Jky C Whitely for his forethought and his skill in relieving the pressure to avoid a potentially serious incident from occurring.
 
DESHORENTE- When passing the winning post on the first occasion received pressure from the inside and then shifted out resulting in BERNIE”S TIGER being tightened for room at that point.
 
HICHAUX- Raced wide for majority
 
EVRYNOW’N’THEN- Raced wide for majority
 
TYCOON PLAYER- Was slow to begin, then shortly after the start Appr Jky Robbins rode her mount in an aggressive manner in an attempt to obtain a forward position. Then when approaching the winning post on the first occasion Appr J Robbins has elected to go for the run on the inside of YOUNG CLIFFY. Jky C Whitely observed TYCOON PLAYER attempting the run and has then shifted out to give sufficient room and to ease the pressure to Appr Jky Robbins who was being hard ridden at that point. In doing so this resulted in DESHORENTE shifting out and BERNIE” S TIGER rider having to ease when tightened for room.  Then when approaching the 1700m point the gelding continued to over race and had to be eased off the heels of BOULT. Stewards questioned Appr Jky S Robbins regarding her riding tactics.  Ms Robbins advised that Trainer Mr S Barker told her to lead. Stewards advised her to consider her options in future rides as her actions today could have caused a serious situation to become much worse.
 
 
Race 8: THE GORGEOUS COFFEE LOUNGE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1500 metreS
 
The start of Race 8 was delayed starting at 5.20pm due to a malfunction with the scales after the previous race.
 
BULL DIMPLE RUM- After beginning well dropped back toward the tail of the field at the 1400m point. Raced keenly from the 1000m point for some distance. Approaching the 600m improved onto heels of PRETTY FLASH and was eased. When entering the home turn and during the early stages of the home straight tended to lay in for a short distance.
 
PRETTY FLASH- Jky J Kissick was replaced by Jky G Geran. Slow to begin then raced keenly during the early stages of the event. Had to take hold at the 1300m point. Raced ungenerously throughout. Had to be eased when placed in restricted room at the 300m. Acting under the provisions of AR190(3) Stewards fined Jky J Kissick the sum of $100 for accepting the ride when being overweight.
 
Lexi's Choice- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Chica Bonita- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
