QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT WARWICK TURF CLUB WARWICK - MONDAY 1ST JULY 2024 WEATHER – OVERCAST TRACK RATING – SOFT 6 RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – C. Warren Stewards – J. Childs, T. Preston, D. MacDonald & E. Tickner SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT Stewards inquired into the presence of several social media posts from the preceding weeks. After taking evidence from App O Webb and considering the matter App Webb was issued with and pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR113 in that she did use her mobile phone whilst mounted at Toowoomba Trackwork on 11 April 2024. Apprentice O. Webb was subsequently fined the sum of $200. App Webb pleaded guilty to a further charge under AR218(4)(b) in that at Toowoomba Turf Club on Saturday, 15 June 2024 she did have in her possession her mobile phone in the Female Jockey’s Room following the commencement of the meeting. App Webb was subsequently fined the sum of $500. Apprentice Webb was advised of her rights to an appeal. GENERAL When App C. Krahnen was indisposed due to illness and App D. Bennett was unavailable, rider replacements were made as per the Stewards race-day Summary. App Krahnen was advised she requires a medical clearance prior to riding again. Race 1: DAVID, PAUL AND PETER HYNES Maiden Plate (1500m) AMONG US – Raced wide and without cover until the 800m. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. VISCOUNT SYDNEY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Became awkwardly momentarily placed on heels near the 100m. GOLD PRINCE – Was ridden conservatively in the early stages from the wide barrier to obtain a position with cover nearer the inside running rail. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. WINDY WHEELS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Shifted out near the 100m when not fully clear of VISCOUNT SYDNEY. App J. McMurray was advised to exercise greater care. LOOK AT ROSA – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Became momentarily crowded and awkwardly placed on heels near the 600m. NAVILLUS HELLFIRE – Slow to begin. Raced keenly for some distance near the 800m. Carried wider near the 600m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. LOOKIN' SHARP – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities outside of an abnormal gait with respect to the Off-Hind consistent with previous examinations and was passed fit to start. Obliged to momentarily steady and shift in and away from heels leaving the 100m. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities outside of an abnormal gait with respect to the Off-Hind consistent with previous examinations. INNO TECH WINNER (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not started in an extended period and passed fit to start. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. A post-race veterinary revealed cardiac arrhythmia for the first occasion. Trainer J. Moore was advised of the gelding would require a satisfactory veterinary clearance and a clear ECG prior to a 1000m gallop before again being permitted to start in a race. KENRICK ROAD – Began awkwardly. FIRST TO MARS – Raced keenly for some distance near the 800m. Laid out for some distance near the 600m and carried another runner wider. Laid in under pressure near the home straight. Race 2: ILL KEENAN Class 3 Handicap (1200m) FRECKLE ROCK – Bumped with BOSTON CITY over the concluding stages and became unbalanced. App C. Sutherland dropped his whip near the 200m. HANG FIVE – Laid out for some distance near the 800m. Bumped near the 600m. Taken wider near the 200m. BOSTON CITY – Bumped the running rail when racing keenly near the 1000m. CELESTIAL HARBOUR – Bumped near the 600m. Shifted out near the 200m taking HANG FIVE wider. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. FIRST PEOPLES – Raced keenly in the early stages. DISCERNING – Lost the off-side winker near the 600m. Held-up near the 200m before being shifted inside of runners to obtain clear-running. KYOGLE KID – App L. Sykes was fined $200 under AR143(14)(a) for claiming only 1.5kg of his 2kg allowance. Slow to begin. Race 3: RAY HILDRED Maiden Handicap (1200m) LA FAST TYCOON – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. ZOUWALER – Raced keenly in the early stages. Bumped near the 800m. MINGARDOS (NZ) – Crowded soon after the start and bumped. A SIP FOR SLIPPY – Began awkwardly and bumped. Shifted in when not fully clear of WHATTA WHITT near the 1100m. Jockey K. Yoshida was advised to exercise greater care. POW NOW – Raced keenly in the early stages when crowded near the 800m and bumped. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. JUST NEVER ENOUGH – Began awkwardly and bumped soon after the start. HOT PEACH – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. WHATTA WHITT – Raced keenly in the early stages when momentarily crowded for room near the 1000m. Raced wide and without cover from the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. COOL STORY – Slow to begin. Following the running of this race, Jockey M. Wishart became indisposed due to illness. Jockey M. Wishart was advised a medical clearance would be required prior to riding again. Race 4: WARWICK PRESSED METALS Maiden Handicap (1200m) BAUHAUS – Raced keenly near the 600m and was obliged to shift wider to avoid heels. CHOCKABLOCK – Bumped near the 900m. NEWSBEAT – Bumped near the 50m when racing in restricted room. RAPT IN PINK – Laid out near the 900m and bumped. Raced wide and without cover from the 800m. READY TO MINGLE – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly near the 900m after being crossed. Bumped on several occasions rounding the home-turn. FREYA'S MAGIC – Began awkwardly and bumped. Shifted out to obtain clear running rounding the home-turn and bumped on several occasions with. THE MANIPULATOR – Slow to begin. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. PEACH GALANTES – Bumped on jumping. Bumped near the 900m. Improved onto heels and was obliged to be steadied and shifted wider near the 600m. Bumped near the 50m when racing in restricted room. SUNFYRE – Began awkwardly and bumped. Bumped near the 900m. Race 5: PETER & JOHN WALSH RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap (1350m) SPIRIT OF BEANS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ALPINE LADY – Raced keenly in the early stages. LIVINGSTONES – Bumped on jumping. Momentarily disappointed for a run leaving the 200m before shifting wider to obtain clear running. App J. McMurray advised that approaching the 200m when attempting a diminishing run his mount proved reluctant to improve and as such he elected to momentarily steadied and shift wider to obtain clear running. App J. McMurray further added that, in his opinion, the gelding did not appreciate the softer going. SUPERARGO – Raced wide and without cover until the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ASHIGARU – Raced keenly in the early stages. LUCKY JESS – Raced wide and without cover until the 800m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. GIVES ME CHILLS – Began awkwardly and bumped. ABB ROY – Raced keenly in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. PERSIAN FRONT – Slow to begin. Race 6: MAREE WALKER RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap (1350m) PALATIAL PRINCE – Bumped near the 1000m when shifting in to obtain a position closer to the running rail and became unbalanced. COLD ONE – Slow to begin. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. ICY ISEA – Raced keenly in the early stages. MARCADA – Raced keenly in the middle stages. IMPERIONESS – Began awkwardly. Jockey J. Bayliss was severely reprimanded under AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out fully to the finish. In assessing penalty, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that Jockey Bayliss’ lack of vigour over the final stride of the event had any tangible effect on the placings, however were of the opinion that Jockey Bayliss’ actions were far below the expected standard. JUMEIRAH TRIANGLE – Bumped on jumping before being tightened between runners and lost ground. DUSTYIAM – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. DUCHESS OF MILAN – Began awkwardly and bumped. SUKICHE – Jockey M. Gray was reprimanded under AR210(1) for failing to weigh in when required to do so. Stewards considered the situation with attention to AR208 and after being comfortably satisfied that SUKICHE had carried its allocated weight correct weight was declared on the Judges semaphored numbers. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bilateral epistaxis for the first occasion. Trainer B. Brown was advised of the provisions of AR79(4). MIDNIGHT BOOM – Trainer I. Turner was fined $200 under LR67(1) for failing to declare Jockey N. Tomizawa by the prescribed time. MORE MAX – Bumped near the 1000m. MISHANI PHAROAH – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Laid in from the 800m. Race 7: BASIL NOLAN SNR QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 62 Handicap (1350m) CAN'T GETWHATIWANT – Bumped near the 400m. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight. Bumped leaving the 100m, before racing in restricted room over the concluding stages and bumping again. IT'SMEMARIO – Bumped near the 400m. ADIELLA – Began awkwardly and bumped. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. RUBAAHY – Began awkwardly and bumped. Raced wide and without cover from the 800m. MISS MIRIAM – Bumped near the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrhythmia for the first occasion. Trainer J. Bruce was advised of the filly would require a satisfactory veterinary clearance and a clear ECG prior to a 1000m gallop before again being permitted to start in a race. SHOUTS ALL DAY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection having raced at Dalby on Thursday, 28 June 2024 and passed fit to start. Jockey L. Tilley was permitted to ride 0.5kg over the allotted weight of 56kg. Jockey Tilley was subsequently fined $100 under AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight. Raced keenly in the middle stages. WIND RUSH FARM – Slow to begin. BORN FEARLESS – After a winning performance at Dalby on 28 June the gelding was subsequently re-handicapped and allotted 56.5kg. Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection and passed fit to start. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid out near the 800m. MUST BE THE MONEY – App L. Sykes was fined $200 under AR143(14)(a) for claiming 1.5kg of his 2kg allowance. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Bumped near the 400m before being placed in restricted room and bumped again. Raced in restricted entering the home straight and obliged to steady when momentarily held-up for clear running approaching the 300m. Race 8: PETER & JUNE STEWART BENCHMARK 58 Handicap (1200m) KUBWA – Trainer B. Healey was fined $200 under LR36(6) for failing to scratch the gelding from its dual engagement by the prescribed time. Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered bilateral epistaxis for the first occasion. Trainer B. Healey was advised of the provisions of AR79(4). SADDLE BOY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Shifted out and away from heels near the 100m. SHINSHINTO – Began awkwardly and bumped. NEW YORK GAL – Began awkwardly and bumped. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. BY BY MUSIC – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly on heels near the 600m. LADY WAIRUA (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. ANNAKURI – Bumped on jumping. Race 9: MERVYN WILLIAMS Class 1 Handicap (1500m) NEW MAHER – Laid in, in the early part of the home straight. Laid out marginally leaving the 100m momentarily hampering GAELIC THUNDER. Jockey N. Tomizawa was advised to exercise greater care. ALREADY BETTER – Began only fairly. NO BETTER TIME – Raced wide and without cover for majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. SHOTGUN SIXTYFOUR – Raced wide and without cover from the 600m. GAELIC THUNDER – Obliged to shift out marginally leaving the 100m when NEW MAHER laid out. ADELAIDE'S LACE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced wide and without cover until being permitted to stride forward and obtain the lead near the 800m.
