Race 1 Class 6 Handicap - 1000 Metres – 6 Starters
RULANA (Adam Tighe) slowly away. A protest was lodged by 2nd placed R McMaster (ARCTIC GEM) against IRISH DECREE (D Monaghan) being declared the winner. After hearing evidence from all parties and on their own observations stewards dismissed both protests. D Monaghan was issued with a reprimand.

Race 2 Class 2 Handicap - 1000 Metres - 7 Starters

Race 3 Maiden Handicap - 1200 Metres- 6 Starters
HOAGY (T Austin) was declared a non-runner after a report from the starter and the steward in front of the start confirmed that HOAGY had been denied a fair start after its gate failed open. All monies on that horse were ordered refunded and a deduction of 19c win and 20c place was declared in accordance with the provisions of the Racing and Betting Act.

Race 4 Open Handicap – 1200 Metres- 9 Starters
Jamey Foster (MACK’S PLACE) was issued with a warning for unfastening his helmet prior to dismounting as it was his first offence. STARWIN (R Hammond) lost ground sharply after rounding the home turn. Stewards ordered a veterinary inspection of that horse. Both trainer and jockey could shed no light on the poor performance of that horse but advised stewards that it had happened in the past. The Vet reported no abnormalities in the horse.

Race 5 Windorah Cup - 1600 Metres – 10 Starters
NOBLE RESPONSE (T Austin) slowly away and failed to show any speed. Trainer A Cullen and Jockey T Austin were both disappointed and at a loss to explain the poor run of the horse.

Race 6 Class 3 Handicap - 1400 Metres – 5 Starters
