RACING QUEENSLAND STEWARDS REPORT NORTH GREGORY TURF CLUB – SATURDAY 21STSEPT, 2019 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT (3) RAIL – TRUE ENTIRE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – Ms K. McCrackenClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – B. Collins/L. GodfreyVeterinarian – R. LynchStarter – G. Rogers Race 1: CLONCURRY MUSTERING MAIDEN PLATE - 800 metres T. Brummell was the replacement rider of DELILAH’S DREAM for J. Hoopert who had vehicle trouble on route to Winton and was unable to attend. CHANTILLY BAY – Jumped away awkwardly casing the mare to be slow away then travelled wide for the remainder of the race to avoid the dusty track conditions. FIG – Bucked shortly after the start and was retired from the race. Jockey R. McMahon believed the saddle slipped on the mare causing the irritation. Trainer T. Parry was advised no action by stewards was taken at this time, but a keen eye would be kept on the mare. FLOSS’S DREAM – Travelled three deep in the early and middle stages. PRINCIPLE – Lay out under pressure over the concluding stages. SARENDA – Jumped outwards hindering an outside runner. TOSS OF A COIN – Hampered at the start when an inside runner jumped outwards. Race 2: ELDERS - WINTON OPEN HANDICAP - 1000 metres BUSH CAVIAR – Travelled wide in the early and middle stages. KAKAKENNY – Contacted at the start, slow to muster speed and travelled wide in the middle and late stages of the race. WICKED WIKI – Slow to begin. CLATEAU – Jumped outwards contacting another runner. Race 3: ORLANDO ORCHARDS QTIS BM 55 HANDICAP - 1000 metres NO CRYSTAL BALL – Travelled wide for much of the race. HUNTING – Inconvenienced by another runner near the 200m, who shifted in jockey J. Babarovich had to take hold and change course. MAKUBA – Shifted in approaching the 200m hampering an inside runner. Jockey J. King was reminded of his obligation to stop riding and straightened his mount when shifting ground. BOLLENTE – Slow to begin and shifted out at the top of the straight and had to be straightened. INCISION – Travelled wide for much of the race. LILY AMORA – Slow to begin, slow into stride and travelled wide for much of the race. TEXT ME – Fractious prior to jumping. Race 4: CAMPBELL HGGINSON TOWN PLANNERS BM 65 HANDICAP - 1200 metres THIN DISGUISE – Slow to begin and slow into stride. ARGENTO PERLO – Travelled wide for much of the race. ARCHADE – Travelled wide for much of the race. MAKATITI – Over raced in the early stages. BOINGO – Jumped away awkwardly. DURANT – Slow to begin, travelled wide in the early and middle stages of the race and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed no abnormalities. Race 5: GEIGER FENCING RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP - 1200 metres Jockey R. Payne was the replacement rider of TIME FOR US. Jockey J. King was the rider of ANGRY DESERT and permitted to ride 1.5kg overweight. BLINKIN DUSTY – Caught 4 deep for much of the race. GREY FALCON – Jumped awkwardly causing the gelding to be slow away and travelled wide for much of the race. TIME FOR US – Slow to begin. NITRO CITY – Dipped at the start. BLUE MONTE – Knuckled at the start then slow to muster speed. NICCONI PASQUALE – Shifted wider approaching the 300m to gain clear running. ANGRY DESERT – Raced greenly at the start shifting in and out on several occasions before being corrected.
