Race 1: BRODIES MERCHANDISE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 800M
 
OUR YOUNG MAN – Jumped away awkwardly, in onto GRANMA. Raced wide throughout.
 
GRANMA – Hampered on jumping.
 
SASSY AURA – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
SERRATALLI – Jumped away slowly.
 
MISHANI DUDE – Jumped away slowly.
 
 
Race 2: ELDERS WINTON BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000M
 
WE’LL BEAT IT – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
CATO – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages, and had to steady to avoid the heels of WE’LL BEAT IT.
 
FLASH FIBIAN – Slow to begin.
 
AIR BLAZER – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
 
Race 3: CAMPBELL HIGGINSON TOWN PLANNING CLASS B HANDICAP 1200M
 
Following the running of Race 3, correct weight was delayed, allowing Jockey J. Hoopert to view stewards patrol footage over the concluding stages. Once Jockey J. Hoopert was satisfied, Stewards declared correct weight on the judge’s placings 10-8-2-6.   
 
NEW YORK POET – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
DEVIL’S NUMBER – Was declared a late scratching due to no available rider.
 
MESMER – Jockey R. McMahon was granted permission from stewards to ride the gelding 1.5kg overweight due to no other available rider. Shortly after jumping away, had to steady to avoid the heels of MRS SENNA. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
RED RED ROSE – Shifted out on jumping, hampering NICKSY BOY. Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
MRS SENNA – Raced wide throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be showing signs of tying up. Trainer T. Schofield was advised that a veterinary clearance of soundness would be required prior to it’s next future race start.    
 
NICKSY BOY – Hampered on jumping. Laid out over the concluding stages.  
 
LITTLE SPOON – Slow into stride.
 
 
Race 4: SEARLES LIVESTOCK TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1400M
 
WARRUBUNGLE – Following the running of the event, Jockey J. Missen stated that after jumping away awkwardly, WARRUNBUNGLE failed to maintain a position with the rest of the field. He had also stated that the gelding resented the kick back of the dirt track. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
NO REFUND – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
NIGHT ATTIRE (NZ) – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
SIZZLESUN – Was declared a late scratching due to no available rider.
 
 
Race 5: BRODIE AGENCIES BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1400M
 
COZHECANCAN – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
BLACKLISTED – A post-race veterinary examination revealed BLACKLISTED to have bled both nostrils for the first time. Trainer K. Krogh was advised the gelding would be stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000 metres in the presence of stewards prior to its next race start.
 
PORTABELLE – Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
ARFA CROWN – Was declared a late scratching due to no available rider.
 
PIQABOO – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
MISS SIZZ – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early stages.
 
FLOWER – Slow to begin. Upon returning to scale, Jockey J. Felix stated that during the running of the event, FLOWER failed to respond to any of the rider’s urges.
