GENERAL
 
Stewards Permitted the following overweight:
Race 3 – K. Ballard +0.5kg
 
Race 4 SNIPPY STRATEGIC was declared a late scratching at 11:50am due to no rider available.
 
 
Race 1: SEARLE'S CATTLE TRANSPORT Maiden Plate 800m
 
EGALITE – Raced wide throughout.
 
I’M FREE – Raced wide throughout. Lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
POSITIVE REWARD – Brushed the running rail passing the 500m. Raced greenly from the 200m.
 
REVVED UP READY – Dipped upon jumping.
 
DACXI BUBBLES – Slow to begin. Failed to show any speed throughout the event. Inclined to lay inwards throughout.
 
KISS THE LASS – Raced wide in the early stages. Lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. Jockey R. Faehr reported that in his opinion the firm racing surface did not suit his mount.
 
 
Race 2: ELLGRA CONTRACTING Class B Handicap 1000m
 
SEENUSCOMING – Jumped outwards at the start and bumped with BETCHA BABY.
 
EXGAMES – Slow to begin.
 
I AM JIMMY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event. Inclined to lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SINGLE MALT – Trainer T. Parry was questioned regarding the circumstances for the late rider declaration. Stewards accepted the reasons provided and no further action was taken. Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Tongue tie became untied during run. A post-race veterinarian examination failed to show any significant abnormalities.
 
ZOROSSA – Raced wide in the early stages. Lay inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
COOL HARRY – Slow to begin. Jockey R. Faehr reported that his mount was inclined to lay outwards throughout the event.
 
CRACKLE CAUSE – Raced wide throughout.
 
SECRET QUALITY – Raced wide early.
 
BETCHA BABY – Bumped by SEENUSCOMING at the start.
 
MADONNA FALLS (NZ) – Fractious prior to the start. Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 3: M & S MITCHELL EARTHMOVING QTIS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1200m
 
DUNNERS – When questioned regarding today’s performance Jockey R. Faehr reported that his mount was first up from a spell and would derive benefit from the run.
 
MORICONI – Slow to begin.
 
SHARPAY RULER – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Raced wide throughout the event. Shifted wider on the track when entering the home straight.
 
DOOM – Held up for clear running entering the home straight and shifted in passing the 200m to obtain clear racing room.
 
VALIANT JOAN – When questioned regarding today’s performance of his mount, Jockey T. Brummel reported that his mount brushed the running rail for some distance at the 600m and failed to respond over the concluding stages. A subsequent veterinarian examination revealed the mare to have poor post-race recovery.
 
SOUND OF SLEAT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Jockey M. Schrapel reported that his mount felt awkward in its actions over the concluding stages. A subsequent veterinarian examination revealed that the mare had poor post-race recovery.  
 
YE HELLA – Slow to begin. Shifted wider on the track entering the home straight.
 
SKOOZI’S FLYER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. Lay inwards under pressure from the 200m.
 
 
Race 4: WINTON SALEYARDS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1400m
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Apprentice T. Leslight to view the photo. T. Leslight had no objections and correct weight was called on the semaphored numbers.
 
FAR REACHING – Raced wide for the majority.
 
TELL THE WORLD – Bumped at the start by LUNA GLIDE and slow to begin as a result. Shifted wider on the track entering the home straight.
 
FLAMING TORCH (NZ) – Bumped at the start by IRON MASK.

LUNA GLIDE- Jumped inwards at the start bumping TELL THE WORLD. Lay inwards from the 200m. Jockey R. Faehr reported that his stirrup strap broke passing the 150m and placed the rider at a significant disadvantage over the concluding stages.
 
IRON MASK – Jumped inwards at start and bumped FLAMING TORCH. Raced wide in the early stages of the event.
 
MISS BOSSY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
SIZZLESUN – Slow to begin. Shifted very wide entering the home straight.
 
 
Race 5: CURLEY CATTLE TRANSPORT OPEN Plate 1400m
 
DARK ARCHER – Began Awkwardly.
 
GYPSY BIKER –Lay inwards when placed under pressure.
 
MUSIC AWARD – Jumped outwards at the start. Carried wider when VUNIVALU shifted out abruptly passing the 1000m.
 
SMOOTH MOVE – Carried wider and lost ground when VUNIVALU shifted out abruptly passing the 1000m.
 
VUNIVALU – Shifted out abruptly at the 1000m when entering the course proper due to unfamiliarity of clockwise racing which carried MUSIC AWARD and SMOOTH MOVE wider on the track. When questioned on the performance of her mount Apprentice S. Robbins stated that in her opinion VUNIVALU did not appreciate the clockwise direction of racing and the step up in distance was not beneficial.
 
POLICE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Bumped by BITTERSWEET PLUCK at the start. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide in the middle stages.
 
BITTERSWEET PLUCK – Jumped inwards at the start bumping POLICE. Apprentice T. Leslight pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR131(c) for a celebratory gesture prior to the finish post. Apprentice T. Leslight was fined a sum of $200.
