QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT NORTH GREGORY TURF CLUB- WINTON SATURDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER 2024 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT OFFICIALS Stewards – S Coulthard, Z Lines (assistant) GENERAL Stewards permitted the following overweights:R2 – K Ballard (+.50kg) G Walters (+1kg) Race 1:SEARLE'S CATTLE TRANSPORT MAIDEN PLATE 800M ADASHAN - Raced wide throughout. KLONDIKE STRIKE – Jumped awkwardly as a result was slow to muster early speed. SHE'S A FERRARI – Laid out rounding the home turn. Race 2: M & S MITCHELL EARTHMOVING QTIS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000M SOLE HEIR – Raced wide throughout. SUNYANI - Raced wide throughout. BURNT BUTTER - Raced wide throughout. Race 3: LANDSBOROUGH SANTAS CLASS B HANDICAP 1200M ELECTRIC HASHMAL – Hampered on jumping and was slow to begin when FABULOUS HOFFA shifted out on jumping. WAN D'AMOUR – Slow to muster early speed. COOL MAN SHOW – Raced wide throughout. When questioned, apprentice K Lenton stated she lost her whip approaching the 1000m which placed her at a disadvantage, and further added she did not believe the horse travelled well on the track surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer R Zahl reported the gelding lost both hind plates during running. FABULOUS HOFFA – Shifted out on jumping. SUMMER SIZZLING – Slow into stride. Race 4: NORTH GREGORY HOTEL WINTON CUP OPEN PLATE 1400M CIAO BICKY – Raced wide throughout. MUSIC AWARD – Jumped awkwardly making heavy contact with barrier partition. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. SAVOURY (NZ) – Slow to begin. Race 5: WINTON ROADHOUSE CABINS & CARAVAN PARK BENCHMARK 50 HCAP 1400M HARCH ROAD – Slow to begin. LASTING PROMISE – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. BITTERBLUE (NZ) – Approaching the 1200m was restrained off the heels of RISK IN ROME which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. Apprentice K Lenton was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for shifting in when not fully clear. RISK IN ROME – Fractious prior to jumping. Jumped awkwardly, slow to begin. Laid in under pressure approaching the 100m. When questioned, apprentice jockey K Lenton stated the gelding travelled well early however failed to respond to her riding when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities other than the gelding losing its off-hind plate during running.
