Start delayed due to ROYAL EQUIANO being reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Trainer C Vick has been advised that a warning will be placed on the mare’s pre race manners.

MOTE LAGO – blundered shortly after the start, raced wide throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn
 
Race 3: WONDAI RSL Maiden Plate 1000m
 
MIA SINGA – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out and inconveniencing the runner to its outside.
 
STRATEGIC BEAUTY – hampered shortly after the start lost ground
 
SEVENTY BELOW – shifted wider approaching 750m raced wide for the remainder
 
LIFE’S A WITCH – Jumped awkwardly and raced greenly in the early and middle stages, wide throughout
 
Race 4: DEB FRECKINGTON MP QTIS BenchMark 60 Handicap 1100m
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight a protest was lodged by Apprentice M Kennedy the rider of 3rd place getter DIRTY RASCAL alleging interference approaching the 250m from the 2nd place getter ACCUMULATED. After reviewing race footage and considering the evidence from the connections, stewards found that whilst DIRTY RASCAL was inconvenienced at that point of the race as a result of ACCUMULATED shifting out. Stewards could not be satisfied that this interference was sufficient to reverse the placings given the margins of 1 ¼  lengths at the finish of the event. Therefore the protest was dismissed and correct weight given
 
ACCUMULATED – Shifted in abruptly approaching the line. Apprentice H English was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift in approaching to 250m.
 
CANID – slow to begin raced wide throughout.
 
GOSSIAUX – raced wide throughout
 
 
Race 5: WONDAI DIGGERS’ CLUB CUP BenchMark 55 H’Cap 1465m
 
 
WILD ELEMENT – jumped awkwardly
 
DANISH DICTION – jumped awkwardly making contact with the runner to its inside
 
PRINCE OF FLINDERS – jumped awkwardly and shifted out shortly after the start, raced wide throughout
 
FORT MYER – Raced 3 wide throughout, raced fiercely in the early and middle stages
 
ASCOT BOUND – raced wide throughout
 
CLOUDS - Apprentice J Morrow reprimanded for his excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
