Race 1: WONDAI IGA & HARLEYS HEAVY DIESEL BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1100 metres The start was delayed when CRISSCROSS was fractious in the barriers, reared and got both forelegs over the front of the gates. Subsequently was removed from the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1.32pm. On declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets placed on CRISSCROSS to be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply for successful bets: 36 cents in the win for first TURBO TEDDY30 cents in the place for first TURBO TEDDY30 cents in the place for second SWEET VENOM Trainer D Gardner was advised that CRISSCROSS would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to being permitted to start again. HARAMAIN – Proved disappointing and finished at the rear of the field. When questioned, jockey K Yoshida stated that the gelding failed to muster speed in the early stages and in his opinion resented the sand kickback. He further added that HARAMAIN was up in class for today’s event. Stewards noted the explanation. VALFIERNO – Rider C Rogers reported that the saddle shifted sideways slightly in the home straight placing her at a disadvantage. SWEET VENOM – Slow to begin. Race 2: ORIGINAL HAIR BY GINA QTIS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap1000 metres OAKFIELD COMMANCHE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. DUREADY – Slow to begin. FAY’S JOY – Raced three wide without cover throughout. MOSSMAID – Raced wide throughout OURLASTPENNY – Slow to begin. Race 3: HARLEY’S HEAVY DIESEL QTIS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap1000 metres Correct weight was delayed to allow the Chief Steward to determine the placings after a judging official suffered a medical episode during the running of the race.Due to QAS personnel attending to this official the start time for the next race was delayed approximately 30 minutes to allow for a replacement ambulance to arrive on course. Race 4 start time was rescheduled to 3.45pm, Race 5 to 4.10pm and Race 6 to 4.40pm. KENTFORD – Raced three wide without cover in the early stages before pressing forward to obtain the position outside the leader near the 500m. STELLAR WAY – Raced three wide without cover throughout. OUR SWEET LOVE – Raced four wide without cover throughout. Race 4: WONDAI DIGGER CLUB CUP OPEN Handicap 1000 metres MOUNTAIN COURAGE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. VICEMAN – Blundered on jumping. Race 5: HIVESVILLE HOTEL Maiden Plate 850 metres STORMZONE – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice M Philpot was reminded of her obligations regarding her use of the whip prior to the 100m. ALLL IN SYNC – Raced wide throughout. SINE CURVE – Apprentice A Jones was reminded of her obligations to ride her mounts out to the finish line. Race 6: MURGON OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT & AMCAL PHARMACY MURGON BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1575 metres DAUNTING WARRIOR – Raced wide rounding the first turn at the 1200m. GALVARINO – Raced wide rounding the home turn. TONTEIN – Raced wide rounding the first turn at the 1200m. PRESTISSIMO – Raced wide rounding the first turn at the 1200m.
