Race 1 – Benchmark 60 Handicap 1000 METRES
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing G Steele, rider of second placegetter KENTFORD to view the photo finish image for first.  After doing so, correct weight was declared on the semaphored numbers.
 
DYNAMIC VERSE – App S Stephan, rider of DYNAMIC VERSE, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six (6) occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted.
 
HARD ENOUGH – Raced four-wide for the majority of the event.
 
POTENT VIEW – The licence to ride in races of App M Philpot was suspended for a period of seven (7) days under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on ten (10) occasions prior to the 100 metres, five more than permitted, to commence midnight 23 October until midnight 30 October 2021. 
 
AIRWING –Rider H Richardson explained the gelding commenced to receive kickback near the 800 metres and was immediately under pressure and then began to race ungenerously, and near the 700 metres shifted in and made heavy contact with the running rail.
 
KELLERS SHELTER – Bumped on jumping and lost ground.
 
KENTFORD – Raced three-wide for the majority of the event.  Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MASTER DENHRO – Raced three-wide for the majority of the event.
 
KOTA FLYER – Jumped out at the start and bumped KELLERS SHELTER.
 
 
Race 2 - Maiden Plate 850 METRES
 
CLANG’S TATT – Slow to begin.  Leaving the 500 metres commenced to hang out, proved difficult to ride, and inconvenienced ECHELETTE.  Trainer K Afford was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
 
ECHELETTE – Inconvenienced leaving the 500 metres.
 
HE DID IT – Shifted in on jumping hampering MIDNIGHT WALTZ.  Near the 200 metres obliged to steady from the heels of MIDNIGHT WALTZ which shifted in.  M Crawford, rider of MIDNIGHT WALTZ, was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
INFORMER – Raced widely in the early and middle stages.
 
MIDNIGHT WALTZ – Near the 600 metres, was hampered after becoming awkwardly placed at the heels of HE DID IT, which shifted out at that point.  App M Philpot was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding. 
 
 
Race 3 – Class B Handicap 850 METRES
 
AVISION – Severely checked at the start when BABA VANGA was taken in by MR FUJI which, after beginning awkwardly, shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.  Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BABA VANGA – Bumped and taken inwards on jumping.  Shifted wider on the track from the 600 metres.
 
TRUE TALLY – Began awkwardly.
 
MR FUJI – Jumped in abruptly at the start.  Taken wider on the track from the 600 metres when BABA VANGA shifted out.
 
 
Race 4 - Benchmark 50 Handicap 1577 METRES
 
MARMARIS – Checked at the start and lost ground when CRAIGLEA CLINKERS jumped out and NINE CIGARS jumped in.  When racing tightly near the 100 metres, bumped with SUPERVISOR on several occasions.
 
NINE CIGARS – Jumped in at the start.
 
SUPERVISOR – Raced wide for the majority of the event.  When racing tightly near the 100 metres, bumped with MARMARIS on several occasions
 
KICK HI – When asked to comment on the performance, App M Philpot stated the gelding resented kick-back when racing behind the leaders, and further, was not suited racing on the fence where she believed the sand racing surface was heavier.  Stewards noted her explanation.
 
BEAT IT – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
CRAIGLEA CLINKERS – Jumped out at the start.
 
LITTLE DRUMMER BOY – Bumped on jumping.
 
MY TARANAKI – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5 – Open Handicap 1577 METRES
 
MR TICKETS – Rider P Hamblin reported the gelding was not entirely comfortable on today’s sand surface and was reluctant to fully stretch out when placed under pressure.
 
CHAMBERLAIN – Jumped in at the start.  When asked to comment on the performance, rider V Venkaya reported the gelding travelled comfortably throughout the race, however when placed under pressure leaving the 700 metres, failed to respond to his riding.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SUGAR BUZZ – Raced three-wide for the majority.
 
ESKDALE GIRL – Checked at the start when CHAMBERLAIN jumped inwards.
 
FEND OFF – In the presence of senior rider H Richardson, the licence to ride in races of App M Philpot was suspended for a period of eight (8) days under AR132(7)(a)(ii), for use of the whip on ten (10) occasions prior to the 100 metres, five more than permitted, to commence midnight 23 October until midnight 31 October 2021.  Stewards ruled this penalty to be served concurrently with the suspension imposed in Race one.
 
GRATSIE – Passing the winning post on the first occasion near the 1200 metres became awkwardly placed at the heels of CREDENZA which shifted in marginally.
