QUEENSLAND RACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORTSOUTH BURNETT RACE CLUBMONDAY 25th April 2022WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Sand RAIL – TrueOFFICIALSChairman: K DalyClerk of Scales – R BellertJudge – P ChiltonVeterinarian – Dr S KellyStarter – K DennienGeneralStewards approved the following weight variations:Race 3: TWOGOBOOM – C Rogers – 55.5kg (+0.5kg)Race 4: MARMARIS – C Rogers – 55.5kg (+0.5kg)Trainer G Richardson was reprimanded under LR67 for the late declaration of riders on his two runners in Race 4 – HARD LANDING (App O Webb) and SHERWOOD PRINCE (H Richardson).Race 1 – Ratings 0-60 Hdcp 1100 METRESSONIC ARROW – Laid out under pressure in the home straight and bumped with GOSSIAUX on several occasionsGOSSIAUX – Bumped on several occasions when SONIC ARROW laid out under pressure in the home straight. DUKATTI – When asked to comment on the disappointing performance rider K Gates reported the horse was unable to muster speed in the early stages and she was obliged to pressure DUKATTI throughout the event adding that in the home straight the horse finished the race off fairly. Trainer B Murray advised the horse was up and in class today and would also appreciate races over a longer distance than that of today.ALL GAIN – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.TRUE TALLY – Raced three wide throughout the event.Race 2 – Class 1 Hdcp 1000 METRESIGBO – Severely checked near the 100m.MR STACK – Tightened on jumping between LA BELLE LA BELLE and ROMAN REIGN which jumped in.ATTACKABEEL – Bumped very heavily near the 100m resulting in rider T Banks being dislodged.EDDIEGATO – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Shifted out abruptly near the 100m despite the efforts of rider T Banks and made heavy contact with ATTACKABEEL which resulted in both T Banks and J Stanley, rider of ATTACKABEEL being dislodged from their respective mounts. IGBO, which was following, was severely checked as a consequence and both LA BELLE LA BELLE and ROMAN REIGN were checked. R Connolly, trainer of EDDIEGATO was advised the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. T Banks suffered an injury to his right knuckle and was stood down from his remaining ride by QAS staff and J Stanley reported he suffered some discomfort to his right shoulder. T Banks was advised he will require a medical clearance prior to his next race or trial ride. A post-race veterinary examination of both EDDIEGATO and ATTACKABEEL revealed no abnormalities.ROMAN REIGN – Jumped in at the start. Raced wide throughout the event. Checked near the 100m.DAWN STAR – Raced wide throughout the event.LA BELLE LA BELLE – Checked near the 100m.Race 3 – Class 1 Hdcp 1000 METRESDAULAT KIITIBAZEBA – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.HOLY CHARIOT – Shifted in abruptly when struck with the whip near the 100m.TWOGOBOOM – Slow to begin.FLYING KASS – Fractious after being loaded into the barriers. Resented the sand kickback in the early stages of the event.Race 4 – Open Plate 1000 METRESHARD LANDING – Raced three wide throughout. HARD STRIDE – Approaching the finish line put in awkward stride and was eased by its rider. P Hamblin, rider of HARD STRIDE, reported he felt the horse may have broken down just prior to the winning post and it was for that reason he eased the horse at that point. On review of the patrol footage it appeared HARD STRIDE may have struck itself at this point of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.VICEMAN – When asked to comment on the performance rider M Butler stated the horse travelled well in the early stages of the event, however when placed under pressure from the 500m was disappointing, adding VICEMAN may not have been suited on the heavy sand conditions. BOINGO – Bumped at the start when SHERWOOD PRINCE jumped in.MARMARIS – Unable to muster speed in the early stages. Trainer/rider C Rogers advised the horse is better suited to races over a longer distance than that of today.SHERWOOD PRINCE – Jumped in at the start. Raced wide throughout.Race 5 – Maiden Plate 850 METRESFRIDAY’S JET – As T Banks was injured Stewards permitted M Cox to ride the horse. Began awkwardly and lost ground.HE DID IT – Raced wide throughout the event.VIZONE – G Steele, rider of VIZONE, was reprimanded under AR132(5) for use of the whip on 15 occasions in totality, one more than permitted.FINEST ACT – Shifted out under pressure over the final 100m of the event.REUBEN’S DECREE – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider H Phillips reported the breastplate on the horse broke shortly after the start which resulted in the saddle shifting back during the race and placing her at some disadvantage. Race 6 – Benchmark 55 Hdcp 1577 METRESKINGOFTHEHARBOUR – Raced in restricted for room for a short distance and had to be steadied turning out of the home straight on the first occasion.CONSULAR – Raced wide throughout the event.OURLASTPENNY – Jumped in at the start and crowded ELUSIVE ELEMENT. Raced wide in the early stages of the event. K Gates, rider of OURLASTPENNT, was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. HOLDS ALL TICKETS – Blundered on jumping and lost ground. Laid out turning out of the home straight on the first occasion placing KINGOF THE HARBOUR in restricted for room for a short distance and having to be steadied.ELUSIVE ELEMENT – Crowded on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide throughout the event.YES NO MAYBE SO – After moving onto the track the horse dislodged rider M Cox and broke through an outside gate before being quickly restrained. YES NO MAY BE underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
