Race 1: Pacific Hotel & Liquor Barn Class B Handicap- 900 metres
1st – SAINTLY DANCER 2nd – GAMBLE IN GOLD 3rd – NEDERBURG 4th – TRIPLE DALMARY
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by Apprentice C. Pye in relation to being dually engaged, due to a miscommunication with Trainer D. Schultz.
MONASHEE STAR (D. Philpot) was slow to begin.
SAINTLY DANCER (D. Missen) and NEDERBURG (App A Taylor) made contact on jumping away as both horses shifted ground.
NEVACANTEL (App C Pye) raced in a 4 wide position to approximately the 600 metres and rounding the turn, shifted out wider on the track.
When questioned regarding the performance of EXALTED MOLLIE, Jockey D. Whitmore stated that he had been instructed to ride the mare from behind and was able to race in a comfortable position. While EXALTED MOLLIE was held up, Jockey Whitmore stated that when able to obtain clear running, the mare didn’t sprint as expected, however did finish the race off well. It was observed that at approximately the 300 metres, EXALTED MOLLIE shifted out to obtain a run and bumped TRIPLE DALMARY (R. Hall) on two occasions and was held up until approximately the 200 metres when able to obtain clear running.
Jockey M. Cant reported YAN YAN ASTA shifted ground under pressure and raced greenly from the 600 metres.
A post-race veterinary inspection of JULIA JET following the race revealed the filly to be distressed; however a further inspection could find no further abnormalities.

HELLUVADUSTSTORM (R. Hall) jumped away awkwardly and afterwards threw its head in the air, lost considerable ground and raced at the rear of the field. HEZA OUTLAW (App C. Pye) over raced in the early stages.
Race 3: Yeppoon Stockfeeds & Garden Supplies QTIS Maiden Plate - 1200 metres
1st – SAVANNAH DAWN 2nd – RED SAVANNAH 3rd – MISS WARNING 4th – DASH BOARD
IRIANA STYLE (G. Philpot) jumped awkwardly and was further hampered when DASH BOARD (M. Barnham) jumped outwards.
RED SAVANNAH (D. Whitmore) was a little slow into stride.
RED SAVANNAH & MISS WARNING (App C Pye) raced wide throughout the race.
At approximately the 300 metres, TOTALLY MINE (D. Philpot) attempted to obtain a run to the outside of IRIANA STYLE, however when that filly shifted out under pressure, TOTALLY MINE was held up for a short distance and obliged to shift out across the heels of DASH BOARD to obtain clear running.
Race 4: G. J Gardiner Homes Yeppoon Newmarket Open Handicap - 1200 metres
1st – SOBEIT 2nd – FUHRMIDABLE 3rd – DANZAMONKEY 4th – REPEAT OFFENDER
ZIP IT OFF (App C. Pye) jumped away awkwardly and Apprentice Pye reported that the gelding failed to stretch out in the early stages, and lost considerable ground. Stable Foreman M. Cosgriff was advised that a warning would be placed against the gelding on this occasion.
COLE TRICKLE (S. McGovern) jumped away awkwardly, blundered and lost ground.
At approximately the 600 metres, SOBEIT (D. Philpt) lay in and FUHRMIDABLE (App F Freihaut) was placed in restricted room between SOBEIT and HARDLY A GAME (M. Barnham). FUHRMIDABLE and SOBEIT bumped on two occasions.
Jockey D. Whitmore reported that DANZAMONKEY hung out throughout.
It was observed that in doing so, REPEAT OFFENDER was forced to race outside DANZAMONKEY and unable to cross to the rail and at approximately the 500 metres, CALYPSO MOON (G. Philpot) was able to improve to the inside of DANZAMONKEY.
Correct weight was delayed to allow Stable Foreman M. Cosgriff to view the available patrol films of the race with the intention to lodge an objection against DANZAMONKEY. After doing so, Mr. Cosgriff did not proceed and correct weight was declared.
Race 5: Taranganba State School P&C Class 2 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st – CIARA GOLD 2nd – FINE SHAKIRA 3rd – MONASHEE STAR 4th – EL KHARTUM
After competing in Race 1, MONASHEE STAR (D. Philpot) was cleared by the vet to star in this race.
FINE SHAKIRA (App F. Freihaut), which was kicked by another runner behind the barrier, underwent a veterinary inspection and was cleared to start.
Stewards inquired into an incident at approximately the 800 metres. After doing so, Jockey D. Whitmore was found guilty to a charge of careless riding (ARR 137a) in that he permitted CIARA GOLD to shift in when insufficiently clear of CHESTER’S EXPRESS (D. Missen) and caused that horse to be checked and lose its position in the field. Jockey Whitmore’s licence to ride in races was suspended from m/n 30th October 2010 up to an including Thursday 4th November, 2010 (2 CQ meetings).
