Rider questioned regarding performance of the horse, which trailed the field throughout. He stated that the horse was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages to the extent that he was forced to apply the whip in order to maintain contact with the main body of the field. He said the horse’s form suggested it is effective on rain-affected surfaces, but did not travel comfortably at any time for him today. Trainer was unable to offer any explanation. Vetted post-race, no significant findings. Tnr will advise results of vet tests he will have carried out on the colt.
