Inconvenienced near the 1400m as a result of WEAPONISED breaking down. J. Lloyd explained that after receiving interference in the early stages of the race, the horse overraced in the middle stages down the back, however he was unable to hold his position approaching the 800m and when placed under pressure after the 600m the horse did not respond whatsoever. Jockey Lloyd was unable to offer any further explanation for the poor performance of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
