Began awkwardly. Raced keen on heels for some distance passing the 1100m. When asked about performance, Rdr advised gelding is suited to events when able to lead and dictate, which it was unable to do on this occasion. A post-race vet exam revealed gelding to be lame in the near-foreleg-vet clearance required prior to racing again.
