Rider questioned regarding his vigour on the horse in the home straight. He said that in the early part of the straight he had difficulty obtaining clear running and passing the 300m was able to improve to the outside and test the mare with the whip, but as the horse did not respond to the whip he rode hands and heels over the final 200m and the horse worked to the line well. His explanation was noted.
