Laid in from the middle stages. Jockey K. Yoshida stated that the mare had a tendency to lay in throughout and was under pressure from the 400m and failed to respond to his riding from that point. He added his mount was first up from a long spell and did not handle the prevailing track conditions, adding that he felt the horse was short in its action from approaching the home turn. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer L. Bryant subsequently reported that the mare had pulled up well and would continue on with a racing program.

Rider, stated that it was the intention to ride his mount in a midfield position, however was unable to muster sufficient speed to cross the runners to his inside and rather than race in a wide position, he elected to come back and obtain cover closer to the rail. He added that he was able to obtain inside runs and his mount finished the race off well.
