Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey J. Byrne stated that the filly failed to travel comfortably throughout the event and proved disappointing. Trainer T. Gollan’s only explanation for the disappointing performance was that the filly may not have appreciated today’s soft track. Nevertheless, Mr Gollan undertook to advise stewards of any abnormality that becomes apparent which may explain today’s performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.
