Rider questioned re riding passing 700m when CLEARFIELD was able to shift out resulting in mount losing ground - noted first start today and inclined to race greenly early stages and as a consequence leaving 800m had difficulty maintaining trailing position behind FINEST SAILING. Passing 700m forced wider without cover and elected to ease to obtain cover. Added placed mare under pressure leaving 600m and finished race off well.
