Raced ungenerously for a short distance leaving the 1800m. Finished tailed off. Rider questioned re performance - stated gelding raced ungenerously early however, he was of the opinion it failed to handle the heavy track conditions and as such did not place the gelding under pressure leaving the 600m. Trainer advised he was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the gelding’s performance today other than the heavy track and that he was disappointed with its performance. Vetted - slow post-race recovery.
