Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, D. Smith could offer no explanation other than that the gelding raced flat today. Trainer’s representative Mr M. O’Leary agreed that the gelding raced somewhat flat today and added that in light of today’s performance the stable will now review the current preparation of the gelding which may include sending it for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings and a swab sample was taken.
