Stewards questioned J. Lloyd in regards to the performance of STARKERS. Mr Lloyd advised that the colt never travelled comfortably throughout the event and when placed under pressure from the 600m immediately came off the bit and failed to respond to his riding from that point. Trainer C. Munce advised that he would monitor the post-race recovery of the colt, however, at this stage it would be his intention to continue with its current preparation. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
