J. Byrne reported that his mount was fractious in the barriers, jumped away awkwardly and settled further back in the field than he anticipated, however, when the pace quickened from the 600m his mount failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing from that point. He added that it did not run out a strong 1666m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings.
