Slow to begin. Trainer J. Zielke reported that the horse returned to scale with its tongue over the bit, which, in his opinion, could explain the disappointing performance. He also added he would now experiment with the addition of a tongue-tie to its gear. A post race veterinary examination of the horse failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
