Began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. Overraced in the middle stages and had to be steadied from the heels of another runner near the 600m.

Became extremely awkward in its action near the 900m giving the rider the impression that the horse may have broken down and as a result he restrained his mount for a short distance. Stewards questioned jockey J. Byrne in relation to this and after viewing the video footage were satisfied with Jockey Byrne’s explanation. Raced wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be sore in both forelegs. Stable representative Mr Cornell was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the horse’s next race start.
